I was treated to this performance live and in person. I had no idea I would see Mr. Redbone that one sunny afternoon I was fortunate to be an audience member at this taping and yep, I'm there clapping along, groovin'. Thank you Leon and may you continue your journey into the afterlife tipping your hat through the gates of heaven.
Leon Redbone's the greatest. Fully accompanied or stripped to essentials, he can play anything in his own way! I loved how tickled he was that ALF knew the words to "Shine On Harvest Moon." That's one of my favorite songs.
Fantastic!! Hope someone will post Leon's appearance on Saturday Night Live when he sang Berlin's "My Walking Stick" accompanied only by his tuba player.
SAW Leon do Shine On Harvest Moon on SNL years ago. Seen him twice in theater since then. He was halirious! But he's serious about the music. Wonderful intertainer.
"ALF'S HIT TALK SHOW" lasted just six episodes on "TV Land" during November and December, 2004...and no matter how obnoxious "Alf" may seem, you couldn't fault him for the caliber of his guests- especially when Leon Redbone, who RARELY appears on ANY talk/variety shows, showed up here....
