That would have been in the 1990's straight out of Apartheid era where the white Afrikaans farmer was used to being in charge and the black guy would have been his farm worker - his brain couldn't compute seeing him in a police uniform....lol. Old habits die hard.

He deliberately calls them "Boer" to anger them as it's the most racist term you can use against white Afrikaner people. Leon is the King of Prank and we grew up with him since the late 70's. He makes fun of everyone and we love it.

Yeah, like others said, police here are much more easy going. But also consider that this was filmed either right at the end of apartheid or just after the end of it. It was also filmed in an area (near Venterstad) that is considered a stronghold for white Afrikaans people and that time racial tension would still have been quite high. Leon Schuster puposely disguised himself as a black African in this area, as he knew it would get the best reactions. He knew what he was doing. And off course they will only show the extreme reactions,not everybody will react like this and make the cut.
