- Who can forget this voice ? Who can forget these poems ? Who can forget such a man, such a friend, such a soul... we cry and we love you forever Leonard.
I only discovered Leonard Cohen in August 2016, just a few months before he passed away. I have been listening to him almost everyday since then. I can't get enough of him. ❤🫶❤
Since the first time I heard him I fell in love with his voice, thank you Mr. Cohen for all the dreams that you allowed to wake up in me. My prayers for you.
This is one of the 2 or 3 best live video performances by Julie and Perla that I've seen. Since the first time I heard them (12-inch LP,,'So Long Marianne') I've been entranced by their very great contribution to Mr. Cohen's recordings and performances. His gifted musicians give his delivery a professional fullness and frame his lyrics; Julie Christensen and Perla Batalla give life to each song in which they have a lot of voice, and depth on all. Leonard was incredibly fortunate that they joined him; they were stunningly fortunate to place their voices around his, and all three have such a close and very symbiotic relationship on and off stage. --Bud Budder Sportster Budster
+Bud Roberts I think that Leonard Cohen acknowledges this contribution by moving behind Julie and Perla (04:10), thus putting them in the limelight. Very nice gesture!
God bless you man... how many memories you have built for me ... thank you for each and every one of them. Thank you for all the dreams too... thank you for taking me to Vienna with the one I love. Thank you for making me dance crazy, even though I really can't. Thank you for making me believe that love is not waste. Thank you for everything. God bless you my good old friend.
Heard Leonard sing this (and many other songs) live in Toronto. This song was completely overwhelming in its beauty. Touching depths that very few other artists get to. His music was sometimes transformative. He had the gift and he honored it.
It is still possible. That a second person person can share the Nobel Prize with Bob Dylan. I am sure that Bob Dylan has nothing against it. Do it. RIP wonderful poet and singer and person. Although this song is not written by you, your legacy of lyrics is a treasure for us all.
The 'song' was most definitely written by him. His interpretation is based on Lorca's "Little Viennese Waltz" which is quite different lyrically, The melody to L Cohen's interpretation is also wonderful..
I have been listening to Leonard Cohen now for over 45 years.... and each time I do is like the first time... full of respect. Thank you Leonard Cohen. RIP beautiful man. xx
Odpoczywaj w pokoju!!! Śpij w poczuciu stworzenia piękna i śpiewaj dla nas, wraz z Aniołami, z nieba. DZIĘKUJĘ!
I hear you ... in the same situation .. I lived through the 70's and totally missed this dude. Loving it though ... late in life. Better late than never :]
I've known Cohen since my 19's and it was the most wonderful lesson I could ever ask for living. I'm fortunate enough to see him twice life, I read his books and listen to most of his songs and still and think it's not enough. We need no of Cohen nowadays
My only regret is that I never had the chance to see you in concert. Your music is so beautiful and has given me so much pleasure since the first time I heard you. Sleep in peace Leonard. x
It's too bad you didn't get to see him but his body of work is so vast. As for me, I only saw him once in London, Ontario and it was a wonderful concert. He was a towering figure in his songs and poems. May his memory last for eternity.
Wsaniały piosenkarz o niepowtarzalnej duszy poety, pieknym głosie i cudownej umiejetności trafiania swoją muzyką do młodych i starszych fanow. Zasłużyłeś swoją tworczością,by być z nami zawsze i wszedzie.💜

Wonderful performance by all involved. This man will never be replaced and the two ladies magnificent voices make the appeal of the song so magnificent .He will never relinquish from my mind this song and the sound .I sleep thinking about this performance.I wonder where the words came from .His poetry is beyond redemption
I was so fortunate to have seen you in concert in 1969 in Forest Hills tennis stadium. You have such a beautiful soul, you have seduced me so Often with your music and your voice which is recognized immediately! I shall love you even as you leave this dangerous earth! R. I. P.
Joan. My favorite Christmas song. At Midnight Borde /@@@@@ I was fortunate enough not to meet Leo until I was nearly 50. Until then I was mired in rock'n'roll and the maestro said it was Mozart but to me it sounded like bubble gum. By the age of 50 I had left babyhood and Bermuda behind and returned to my homeland, Iceland. It was in 1988 that I was ready to listen and partake of all of the complex verse and sweet simple music of love and life. And most of all the only religosity that ever made sense to me. Thank you my friend.
I can't get enough of this song. I play it over and over and it leaves me with a longing that can only be filled with this beautiful soul inspiring, musical work of art 💝💞💖
I truly think that this beautiful man and his special fusion of song and poetry will transcend the ages. Good night, Mr Cohen. You will always be at the pinnacle of song.
I hear his songs since I was a teenager and I feel a great sadness. Great artist dealt with a variety of themes - love, war, holocaust, politics, joy, sadness, sex and more. Thank you.
Domie
The elevation of Lorca's poem to the glory of this beautiful song is a grandiose tribute to both poets. Amazing! Thanks Leonard for contributing to the soundtrack of our lives for half a century. As the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inscribed in 2008:"For six decades, Leonard Cohen revealed his soul to the world through poetry and song-his deep and timeless humanity touching our very core. Simply brilliant. His music and words will resonate forever. "
DIVINE VOICE !!! BEAUTIFUL VOICE !!! VERY EMOTIONAL VOICE !!! VERY EMOTIONAL ACTOR !!! ENDLESS BRAVO Dear, Dear, ENDLESS Dear Leonard Cohen FOR The BIG PLEASURE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS WITH A LOT OF LOVE AND LIGHT Your ETERNAL FEN Nadya Mirkova and all My big family, and all My friends from Sofia - Bulgaria - Europe - Russia - America and all World !!!
My first attempts at playing guitar and singing are all about this guy! He has always led me on in my music as has the legacy of Janis Joplin. I bought a Leonard Cohen song book when I was 18 and I learned every fingering, every word from that! And I still have that book!! 40 some years later, I still love this man and his music! I got to see him in concert when he was 75 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. What a privilege!! I will honor him forever as a wonderful Canadian musician! What a loss! But he was right there until the end and what else could we all wish for. Brenda Tenold, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada
el mejor....descansa poeta maravilloso, único en su estilo, su voz, y la manera de unir el amor con la espiritualidad, con un toque de erotismo, impresionante...ay ay ay ay!!!!
I have decided to keep listening til i cant hold my eyes open. Its been since around 4: here in Central Texas since I heard. So I wanted to keep posting and celebrating his life, here on earth. I am not counting
