He should've returned during Leonard and Penny's new relationship and their engagement and Susan (His wife and Penny's mother) could've also been there very soon in this episode or in the next seasons! And Wyatt didn't even met any of Leonard and Penny's friends here! The writers had big chances to write this and they haven't! They'd better write these in Season 12 and also let's hope there's a Season 13! What do you think of all this? And also, of all the main characters' fathers that have up to now appeared, I seem to like them like this: 99% - Wyatt (Penny's father) 89% - Alfred Hofstadter (Leonard's father) 67% - V.M. Koothrappali (Raj's father) 12% - Mike Rostenkowski (Bernadette's father)

He was not like that in this episode. Same with Sheldon’s dad. He made him seem like a violent alcoholic but in young Sheldon he’s like the best character.

In short, a funny father.doesn't mean it's a guaranteed *good father*

Saying Penny is the lucky one may be a bit of a stretch particularly in the later seasons. Leonard may have the education but realistically he may not be the bread winner. At least in Canada, Ph.Ds working at universities don't make a lot, while a pharmaceutical rep makes a reasonable salary. Not to mention Leonard has the emotional maturity of a child IMO.

Yeah, she's so lucky to be with a man who constantly belittles her and doesn't respect her boundaries. She's a trophy wife in his eyes.

@@gourmetbanana not really. Women like Penny tend to get used . Because they are so superficial men feel " I should cheat on her, she's not really worth ##### anyway ". She grew out of that because of Leonard. With out it she was likely to have a string of failed marriages. Just like she forced him to grow up a little. They both grew from eachother and are both better people for it

Yes on Lisa Kudrow playing Penny's mom. No on Jon Cryer playing Sheldon's dad in flashbacks. Jon Cryer doesn't fit the character. From what's been said on the show, Sheldon's dad was a "man's man". So he needs to be portrayed by someone who can exude that persona.

Matt Thornton well in a fit of comedy, Penny's mom was played by Katey Segal, a cute reference to their time as mother and daughter on 8 Simple Rules.
