Speaker(s): Leonard Susskind
Abstract: Motivated by the consistency of black hole complementarity, Sekino and Susskind have conjectured that no physical system can "scramble" its internal degrees of freedom in time faster than (1/T) log S, where T is temperature and S the system's entropy.

Relative complexity and the second law of complexity in auxiliary systems which can be applied here interesting. Charges to spread logarithmically through the event horizon proves fast-scrambling with tree-like scrambling. Hamiltonian vs Lagrangian scramblers. Black holes are presumably the fastest natural-occurring scramblers due to quantum information theory and wonder how matrix QM can be applied to fast-scrambling by bound saturation.

OMG! Did anyone else notice that at 1:00:38 Lenny slams Lee? I thought for a moment that I was watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon attempts to slam Loop Quantum Gravity. Was this called for? I thought that Lee's question was an attempt to better understand the details. I enjoyed Lenny's presentation... I always do... but damn Lenny!

Thks for pointing this moment out. I’m trying to find more and more direct interactions between these two, who I admire a lot. Still, As you say, unwarranted diss

@1:06 - I'm a complete dunce when it comes to blackholes but from every video I've ever watched regarding the physics of a horizon I would say that the fast scrambling comes from the fact that the environment inside a blackhole is frozen and completely ripped away from the local outer environment. This causes shifting and stretching as energy states are smeared across the surface in time but in my mind the states no longer evolve until they are released as Hawking radiation. The lack of internal motion is seen as thermally cold but interactions at the horizon are maximally hot because they represent the upper limits to physical processes.

Additionally, has anyone else attempted to define a generalized Reynold's Number to capture this distinction between laminar space and turbulent space?
