He stated after growing pains ended, he had trouble finding much work in hollywood so he ended up just leaving the industry all together. He partially blames the fact that they never spent much time developing his character on Growing Pains so he could become a better known actor but instead they chose to introduce Leo and put all the focus on him.
@@knucklehoagiesit’s not Leo’s fault but they added him on the show apparently to have the ratings to go higher but it didn’t work and then Leo left to do this boy’s life
Throwing kids into shows was a common jump the shark concept back then (I think it was due to Family Matters and Full house doing well) Going Places did it and so did Perfect Strangers
i loved watching Growing Pains when i was a kid my favorite character on the show was Mike he was very cool i liked how at first he was a to cool for school kinda guy and later he turned into a loving foster brother he was a better brother to Luke than he was to Ben
It's interesting that they put Leonardo DiCaprio in this show. And whoever the nerd actor Is he put him in there too. I'm not surprised he had a problem with him on the show
they were trying to find another teenage heartthrob to replace Cameron's diminishing popularity, becaue no one thought of Jeremy as a heartthrob, despite being a teenager.
"Luuooke" "Great pipes. Every Luke within 5 miles is heading over here" "Anybody ready for some dinner" "Yum yum" "My boy" That, ladies and gentlemen, is just how deep teenage boys' brains are.
This is a 4th wall or self parody. The character Luke came under the blue and completely eclipsed then. But of course the cabrio is the one who's career catapulted
Even if Mike or The father slapped Ben everybody would say go back in. They would to take the family side and say if you were being abused you would have scars in your bringing out of room. Ironically we get 100% the opposite pool when watching such a scenario on television. Basibal to feel pity.
For anyone who needs encouragement: Romans 8:18 “The pain you’ve been feeling can’t compare to the joy that is coming!” John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Whatever is going on right now, have faith, your situation will get better. :) Jesus bless anyone reading this and have an amazing day!!🥰✨💖
literally every american sitcom ever created. It's called the "Cousin Oliver effect" that started with the Brady Bunch when they introduced a 7th child (cousin oliver) which basically destroyed the shows ratings. Evidently, producers of future sitcoms never learned their lesson.
@joeyleverton6800 -- Even worse, the new (unforeshadowed) kid character is often some combo of the Mary Sue/Gary Stu, writer self-insert and a Creator's Pet tropes, which makes them extra unbearable.
this really got cancelled, because Kirk Cameron was no longer the teenage heartthrob, and producers tried to make DiCaprio the next Kirk Cameron, but that was a bad call, because it wouldn't be until 1997 that Leo finally turned into what producers wanted him to be in 1992. Thus, he was written out quickly, and the already dying show tried to go on without him.
He ruined my 80s sitcom at the time. funny coming across this and hearing Chrissy say ew at eating fungus. I saw her recently in The last of Us. Hahaha
@echolot her name is Ashley Johnson and she starred in the forgotten sequel Annie II which was a made for tv movie in (1995) Plus she was in the Mel Gibson comedy What Woman Want in (2000)And she's led her voice to several cartoons including Family Guy, Teen Go Titans and Pound Puppies to name a few. 😀🤗📺👍
Clearly, someone hasn't learned to distinguish between an actor and the character he plays. The Trump supporter is Kirk Cameron. Kirk Cameron is not Mike Seaver. They are 2 completely different people.
