Leopold Koželuh (in engl Tanner) achieved renown as a composer, pianist and teacher, and from 1792 until his death in 1818 he held royal appointments as Kammer Kapellmeister (music director) and Hofmusik Compositor (composer), as Mozarts successor. Listening to this wonderful pre-biedermeier period music, one should think composers' spirits THEN were inhabited by a kind of, - today almost unimaginable, - sanity and serenity which has long gone lost since and is sorely absent from NOWADAYS music.
