Vince Vaughns last scene haunts me to this day. That left me emotionally drained for weeks. The soundtrack is the cherry on top. An overall masterpiece.
Yeah, i have the same feeling, when i think back to season 1 i still get that eerie vibe... Perfectly made! P.s I am watching a show now with Childress playing in it, and still see him as a crazy madman, just because of True Detective, and that seems as a great actor to me...
+erik cameron I remember that , so intense I was literally holding my breath till the last second, the look they were giving to each other, how they realised what happened was fucked up, it was so realist. I totally agree it was fantastic
+erik cameron Exactly. Ray definatly made the show, I was eager to see every week what would happen to him during the episode, I also liked the dynamic with every character he interacted with. Colin Farell really deserved an award because he did a pretty good job at portaying mr Velcoro. I was so emotional during his last scene, I still am when I watch it tbh. True Detective is the kind of tv serie, I wont bother to watch over and over again because it's so well written , played and the soundtracks are well choosen. I really can't wait to see what's gonna happen on season3, who's gonna play, and I really can't wait to hear the soundtracks.
This was the perfect song for the season. I don't understand people who say this wasn't a good season. Sad to see it so under appreciated. First was obviously the best. I loved the third one too, but second is still better.
@@mduhan2555 3rd season has been out for ages you aint from the future haha. 3rd season was awesome too, the darkest i think, more like the original series as there was alot of critism of the 2nd season
lately I'm not feeling like myself when I look into the glass I see someone else I hardly recognize this face I wear when I stare into her eyes I see no one there lately I'm not feeling like myself lately I've been losing all my time all that mattered to me slips my mind every time I hit another town strangers appear to lock me down and lately I've been losing all my time the mystery that no one knows where does love go when it goes? lately words are missing from now on vanished in the haze of love gone wrong there's no future there's no past in the present, nothing lasts lately someone's missing from now on... the mystery that no one knows where does love go when it goes? the mystery that no one knows where does love go when it goes?
I am a theater nerd, so I really did love the references to Antigone in this seasson. This season had all of the themes of a Greek Tragedy. Tragically flawed noble characters, a grim, bleak ending with a small sliver of hope, atonement and forgiveness between parents and their children. Brilliant.
So then its exactly the same as season one? Tragically flawed noble characters, a grim, bleak ending with a small sliver of hope, atonement and forgiveness between parents and their children?
@@jjhova Care to elaborate on how it's the exact same as season one but still a prime example on how not to tell a story? You're contradicting yourself there bud.
Season 2 ending exploded with revelation and honestly was entertaining. I just think people should watch the eight episodes again to see this dark noir drama play out.
So fucking good. Perfect ending. Wraps up everything perfectly and balances the Shakespearian- esque tragedy with just enough hope. A tour de force of cinema.
Grisham D It's just different, maybe less appealing to the pubblic. There's not really a "bad guy" to chase, the case is much more complicated, but i also believe that it's more "real" than the first one. Ultimately it's a matter of taste, but i can't buy the argument that it was boring or badly done, because that was not the case.
To the best TV show, long life to Velcoro, Bezzerides, Semyon and Woodrugh. They stole my heart forever. No one but Pizzolato could create this wonder.
It was cherry on the top. It seems you only liked music here. Of course her songs made sense but the true essence only came when it was matched with scenes from the show.
Lera Lynn - Lately Lyrics Lately I'm not feeling like myself When I look into the glass I see someone else I hardly recognize this face I wear when I stare into her eyes - I see no one there Lately I'm not feeling like myself Lately I've been losing all my time All that mattered to me slept my mind Everytime I hit another town strangers appear to lock me down Lately I've been losing all my time The mystery that no one knows Where does love go when it goes? Lately words are missing from now on Vanished in the haze of love gone wrong There's no future, there's no past, in the present nothing lasts Lately someone's missing from now on The mystery that no one knows Where does love go when it goes? The mystery that no one knows Where does love go when it goes?
Last episode was breathtaking. I really liked season 1 and 2 for completely different reasons, I think though that this finale has made me cry harder than last season's finale. Anyway, great show, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next season!
I recently rewatched season 2 and definitely appreciated it more. I think as time passes there will be looked on a lot more favourably as the themes become more and more relevant.
Words can't describe how much this song is me at this present time ...Well, I guess it does, LoL. Sad and haunting but beautiful in it's bold yet simple vulnerability.
The finale was thrilling. I don't know what some of you complainers were watching. Sure, this season was sometimes dense and convoluted, but that's what I liked about it. If you're going to continue the same supernatural elements as Season 1, it would have gotten dull pretty quickly. This was pure film noir. The story wasn't that hard to follow if you listened intently week to week. Anyway, I love this song.
Michael D'Addario It was thrilling and the story was dense but the finale explained everything. My problem is that you can have the saddest ending ever, but you should never leave it with an injustice. Sure maybe the truth gets out, maybe it doesn't, maybe no one cares. But I would've liked to see Burris get his. It would've been great if Burris and Ray took each other out. This time darkness won. At least onscreen.
Radb707 True Detective is strange that way. In both season finale's, there's been the idea that a large element of darkness has won (pedophilia rings in S1, Burris and corruption in S2) but there's a little bit of hope left to keep it from being a truly depressing ending. ("The light's winning" in S1, Bezzerides passing the investigation on and having Ray's child in S2). I think Pizzolato sticks with the idea that ultimately, there will always be bad guys left in the world.
Michael D'Addario I love that RU-vid of all places is really appreciative of True Detective Season 2. A lot of critics and wannabe critics on twitter and the like just looked like idiots when they endlessly criticised something they clearly didn't understand.
Sadly far too many people hated on it for no good reason. Was it as good as season 1? No. Was it superior to season 3? Yes. Season 4 entitled True Detective: Night Country with Jodie Foster in the lead is due out next year so hopefully the success will continue for this show after I was disappointed with season 3 for trying too hard to replicate season 1 in my opinion. Still a decent season, just not great.
Leaving aside certain aspects, the part that seemed great to me was that both characters know that they are not gonna make it, that it is over; and yet they assume it; without regrets, without whining, and even for a few moments, they grab fate by the throat
The first season was Sooo incredible and the second stood right up to it. All the actors have bumped their creds big time. It's another reason to enjoy Ray Donovan very similar and just as intense....Bravo ! Give us a a season 3...can't wait.
Chuck Reed when i heard that s2 wont be connected with s1 i tought that there was no way i could love it more than the 1st one and almost didnt watch the 2nd season...know 2nd season is definitely my favorite and there is no way s3 canbe better...if they make it
I have to admit when this track kicked in as Valcaro entered the train station i thought fuck me that sums up this season perfectly. A really great song to go with i felt a fantastic season
the Covid Song. Lately I've been losing all my time All that mattered to me slipped my mind Everytime I hit another town, strangers appear to lock me down Great song, and great singer! Season 2 was the best, followed by 1, followed by nothing;
I love this song, when it aired on true detective I broke down in tears. It's how I lost my daughter just before she was to be greeted into our world. Tomorrow will be her 3rd birthday ♡ "Lately I'm not feeling like myself When I look into the glass, I see someone else I hardly recognize this face I wear When I stare into her eyes, I see no one there Lately I'm not feeling like myself Lately words are missing from now on Vanished in the haze of love gone wrong There's no future, there's no past In the present, nothing lasts Lately someone's missing from now on"
I loved this season, better than season 1 actually. Everyone has their preferences, to each their own. I loved the music from this season, Lera Lynn is a truly talented woman.
