Hell ya I’ve dealt with people who think they deserve everything but never sacrificed anything. I’m going to school right now to be an electrician I had some college kid telling me that electricians are useless I was like wtf dude what are you talking about. That kid also thought communism was an amazing political system. That kid needed a drill sergeant knife handing the fuck out of him haha.

Love Evan's rant about college education and student loans. So many nuggets of wisdom. I was naive and got a social science degree, but then I joined the military and went the intel route. Now post military, I work in the banking industry and my military career and experience has helped me be successful, not my college degree. I also paid off my student loans quickly, yet my college friends that didn't serve still have their student loans 11 years after graduating and are hoping the govt forgives them. I tell them to stop buying shit and pay them off themselves instead of only making minimum payments only.

Scary how less than 2% serve in our military. How better would our society be if public service was an obligation (2 year minimum).

Judging by the European countries where it already is? Not much better, if at all. Fact of the matter is, a responsibility forced on someone is not a responsibility respected by that person. If every single person was forced to commit to two years of public service, it wouldn't be anything special. It'd be "Your grind to get through so you can actually go do what you want in life afterwards." If you want to really reduce the importance and impact of public service, and turn it into 'just another piece of bullshit the government makes us do,' then go ahead and force people to do it.

@@DerAlleinTiger glad someone else said it. That and the talk of everybody being on a federal data base scared me and then to justify it with the theory that the crime rate will drop made me check to see if I was listening to the right podcast. That was... weird.

@@jda671 Sure, Switzerland isn't a bad place to live. But is it leagues and bounds better than the USA? Not really? I've never looked at Switzerland and been like "Damn, I sure wish I lived there and not here." It looks like a nice place. I wouldn't mind maybe visiting at some point; but I'm not really dying to emulate it or anything. You also ignore lots of other places with compulsory service like, say, Germany that has PLENTY of problems that we in the US scoff at or say "Damn, better you than me." Of course, a lot of Germans are also happy that they're in Germany and not the US too. It's a matter of perspective. Never did I imply that a country with obligatory service was a hellhole or anything, only that none of them are so far above the US that it in any way appears to be a major advantage.

Wait I believe I met this man in person when my brother graduated Boot Camp in 2019. If I’m correct he gave a speech during the graduation. We met in the Infantry Museum in the Medal of Honor room.

I have 10 acres in yelm, wa. I work in the Seattle area. I build electronics for scientific machines, I have trained many young people and they all wash out because they don’t want to work for a living. Young people want to be able to live with mommy and daddy and not have to work. They have no work ethic , they want to stay stoned and play.

@@jonnybgoode7742 He may have, but I might suggest that an informed person that doesn't give a shit somewhat negates the informed part. The problem with "Democracy" is two fold: 1) No matter how well informed and how fully experienced a portion of the public is still going to insist upon what is evil, failed, and wrong, and 2) Politics is and is always an obligation which the citizens ought to esteem as an important part of their every day lives, but on average won't. It is for these reasons that among others the Founding Fathers crafted for us a Republic. There are numerous tweaks I would make to our Constitution to improve or restore the Republican principle those reasons being among them. However, currently I agree with Bret and Eric Weinstein that a Constitutional Convention could not occur right now, in this moment in history, that would result in anything rational or functional.

I don't think they put children in the category of organized crime. When I was bullied and fought back not only was I suspended but labeled a racist (whit people are a minority where I went to school.) Guys were easy when you know where you stand. The worst offenders were the girls. They were so vicious and ruthless that the Gestapo would be jealous.

Petry I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the mandatory biometrics in order to vote. It's not the government's job to collect data on citizens without warrant. Having proof of citizenship and residency makes sense for a person able to vote or excersie any of their rights, but needless data collection of personal data is a violation of multiple admendements. Would you be okay with the governement being able to detain citizens without warrants? How about having complete access to your browser history, bank statements, health data, personal property of not just you but your entire family? Disagree? Change my mind.

They already have complete access to our browser history's. The Supreme Court ruled the Government does not need a warrant to look at Citizens browser history.

They have all of that information already. China has most of it too. Any app that you use that is free to you, means you are the real product. The app is just a way to get your information to sell it. The Social Dilemma on Netflix explains it.

When I watch your conversations it feels like I’m listening to my self think, it’s good to hear there are some sane people that care and want to do the right thing. It’s good to hear the disgust that you feel for all the psychologically unsound nonsense being given consideration in our societies and that there are people that see the reality of the utterly broken political and sociological structures that are being propped up for the benefit of corrupt power hungry sociopathic narcissists. I think the solution is to tool up, tell the colleagues in the agencies that protect these lizard people to stand down, and eradicate the lunatics that have taken over the asylum. Until this happens the western “democracies” 😂🤬will continue on the path of self destruction for the express benefit of the faceless few that want to play power games with the lives of the rest of us.
