Noah Paulette I understand, my whole folding the chute flag thing was a joke. The flag on the ground thing barely was a joke. I know it’s not a big deal that fake flags touch the ground but I still prefer to keep them off the ground as they represent the real thing and what it stands for. Many moons ago before my dad retired from GM, he won tickets to a NASCAR race at MIS. The tickets included meeting our driver (at the time), Joe Nemechek (even got a signed hat from him), a pit tour and they took us on a 'track tour' around turn 3 and 4, pulled behind one of their pit vehicles on a small trailer with seats. You simply cannot get a feel (no pun intended) for the banks of a NASCAR track until you're sitting in a vehicle not intended to be on one and feeling like you could tip over. The race was the GFS 400, so they had a small convoy of GFS semis, WITH TRAILERS, trucking around the entire track. To this day, I never thought I would see a semi driving at such an angle as they did.

So much America, such British weather. When I was very small I got to go round the Brooklands banked race course with my dad in his Singer (I think it was a Nine) in similar conditions, I still remember that even though I was only a year or so old. Daytona is hallowed ground in a similar light so it's always a pleasure seeing someone get to enjoy being there and experiencing it.
