I remember playing Les at Cuemasters is Walken Worsley near Manchester in about 1980. Back then I was captain of the snooker team when we played in the old Bolton league, but one afternoon when I was in there playing a few games with my mate Brian Cunningham when Les walking in. Anyway later on I was asked if I fancied a couple of games with Les (sure no prob I said) , but it was more of a pratice / worm up for Les as he was playing a match somewhere later on that night, so really just took the ball out of the pockets for him. But it was a nice change to do something different that day, plus I met Les as well.
Nice guy les. I played him once and he knocked in a 80 odd break against me. The funny thing is that he was chatting away to his mate while he was playing who was stood there watching us play. He made it look so easy. So he is absolutely right when he says he doesnt play as serious as the other players. But yet he still wiped the floor with me.
