That milling is incredible but I get your point about it looking and feeling its age as far as the current market goes. I remember the ZT x Les George collab designs. Never had a chance to pick one up but I respected the name and the unabashed nature of the design. I've never had a chance to give XHP a try. I've heard it performs decently well but has so-so corrosion resistance.
From what I understand...and I'm an idiot 😳...cts xhp is supposed to be in the d2 family. The astor by spartan blades, also designed by Les George is also in XHP. I don't have a ton of experience with it myself. I hear spyderco does it really well 🤘👊
Dang, still love the look of that one. I didn't think it had a 3.5" blade until I saw you measure it. Handle must be long, or that pattern is creating an optical illusion! Whatevs, still love it! Send both knives to meeeee! 😎👍🤌
This is VERY similar to the Spartan Blades Astor. I absolutely love it, but not a flipper it is a roll out knife. I would love to own one like this, but definitely not in the budget.
Not much more than that beautiful fully dressed soyderco at the end of the day. I know what you mean though. You gotta catch a drop to find them that cheap. Drops are hard to catch ...if you're like me...I'll catch a drop at a horrible time when I don't have the money at all. This one is going to satu dave. He sells stuff sometimes and trades often...keep an eye out 😎✌️
I think the ratio looks worse on sone frames than others. 3.5" blade with 8.25" overall is better than the average 8.5" knife with the same blade ...yet, here it does seem a bit handle heavy. Odd stuff. I agree but the math adds up I guess. 😎👊
@@apex_alchemy_knives totally understand that. It's bigger and heavier and bulkier is the only difference really. I totally get not for you that's how I feel about the para3, bugout, 940....etc. all classics and cool but I can't get into them. I have yried
