Les Misérables flash mob at The Mall of Millenia, Orlando, FL - Aug. 30, 2014 Les Misérables | September 10 - October 12, 2014 407-447-1700 or orlandoshakes.org
Yep. :) As an extreme introvert, doing this sort of thing would terrify me completely.... so the day I did this with a local theatre group, as Marius, will be a day I never forget. :)
A BIG shout out to *The Orlando Shakespear Theater* for such a brilliant rendition of this song. This is £100 a seat stuff. Their voices are that good! They are all absolutely brilliant! *Bravo!*
David G. No, I don’t think you understand how sound works. Unless they put speakers inside of their bodies, the placement of sound would be absolutely obvious if it were from the speakers playing the music
I felt so bad for that dude and his daughter I didn’t understand why they weren’t moving out of the way and then half way through I realized they were in it.
LOL . . . I am "that guy" . . . my daughter Ellie, was "Young Cosette" in the production and I was Fauchelevant in another local production of this show and was invited to participate in it. I was just standing there because I had just had my gall bladder removed 20 hours before this event and was still in my surgical bandages. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. :) LOL . . . I am super proud of my firstborn baby girl--the only child actor in the production who was invited to be a part of the flashmob. She was amazingly professional for a 9 year old. She's now almost 14 . . . I will treasure this forever.
01:14 Holy crap!! I've heard lots of people singing this part of Éponine lamenting her life, but I've never heard someone build up the volume on that last note, like this women does!! It's like wow!!! Is it ever going to stop growing louder?!? It's amazing!! What a voice!!
Props to Valjean, who endured being just a dork singing at the mall until Marius showed up and people realized it was actually a flash mob. Also his voice nearly brings the roof down, my God.
David G. No, no they aren’t they sang it then re sang it in a studio and the people put that audio over this video so it was clear but they actually sang it in front of this crowd
@@lasktdave Colm Wilkinson has a higher voice than the Valjean in this one. My voice is exactly like Colm Wilkinson's when singing. This Valjean is a baritone-tenor while Wilkinson is a tenor.
Wow...this is a five star flashmob....awesome voices, acting the parts, not just singing. This group deserves their own production if they dont already have one
I've seen Le Miz about 10 times over the years, from broadway touring companies to local theater and this rendition of One Day More is one the best I've ever heard! I rewatch this several time a week. Bravo!!!
Reminding me of seeing Les Misérables way back in 1990 in London. The most impressive production I've ever seen and heard. And to my humble opinion this ensemble is also fabulous. Respect!
In case you don't realize that's Davis Gaines singing the role of Javert. He played the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway probably longer than anyone else in the history of the show. He is a brilliant brilliant tenor.
You HAVE to be kidding me. This was off the charts excellent. These shoppers just got first class entertainment just for being there. I cannot believe how GOOD these singers were.
@@tracyroweauthor And you just returned the favor, thank you! lol I love this video, it's one of, if not the best thing on YT. I also keep coming back, I've watched it probably a hundred times in the last few years
I noticed that too, but their voices are SO clear. I have a sneaking feeling that either this is a studio recording superimposed over the video or that they all wore individual microphones. When you listen to it, especially at the beginning, you don't even hear the chatter or clamour of a busy mall, so it seems suspicious.
I would have loved and been so incredibly honoured to have caught this! Floods of tears just watching and think about people who are listening live who financially will never otherwise have the chance.
I would totally be the broadway nerd who joins in even though I wasn't part of the flash mob. "Wait a second, you're not the girl who's supposed to be singing Cosette's part..." Haha
+SlowxParentsCrossing That's ok, I'll be on the other side singing the Eponine part when I'm not supposed to. Afterwards, we could go get smoothies or something. Random, do you think they have permission, I notice security never shoos anyone away.
+sate Cain and then we became best friends forever lmao. I'm not sure about the mall security part though. Can you get kicked out of the mall for singing? Either way I'm sure they got permission first just to avoid a "confrontation" 😂
Otaku Kani it would have been amazing if he'd been chased down and arrested for stealing the flag while they were singing. Really would have fit the Les Mis theme too.
i was in a concert version recently and i got to be the flag guy. it was awesome. we did held off until the final "OOOOOONEEEE DAAAAAY (boom theres the flag) MOOOOOOO OOOOOO OOOOOOORE"
Everyone's going on about Javert and Cosette and Eponine and them, but can we pause for a moment and talk about Valjean??? Literally every time he sings "One Day More" at the end it gives me chillssssss ahh
My favourite Musical of all time - and I’ve seen many (just edging out Fiddler on the Roof). I think I’ve seen Les Miz 4 or 5 times…it never gets old. This Company just freakin NAILED that. Awesome voices. What a TREAT for those in the Mall that day. As someone else posted - that was a $110. a seat quality. Well Done, All !
Wow, wish I could have seen this. Absolutely amazing voices, with the individual members parts being perfectly sang. A very highly done performance I’m sorry I missed.
At first I thought it was really great lip-synching, but it didn't take long for me to figure out this was real. Mind Blown. I would not be surprised if this is the actual broadway crew.
Well maybe not exactly Broadway, but they are the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre group. I thought at first they were doing it OST style or were lip-synching.
so so good and the last bit when they start 'marching' to the crescendo makes me shiver, how many times have I watched this I never get tired, fabulous, well done to all
You know what else is so good about this "flash mob"---besides all the talent? The recording of the performance is first rate! You can hear what the performers are singing, i.e., all clear, easily understood, no background interference, etc. A great job by the artists AND the recording people!
Yeah but where are their microphones hidden then? They dont have little headsets or mics in their shirtcollar. Makes it likely they we lipsyncing. Or am i just not seeing their mics
I'm in tears. . The tears of unrelented joy, I can't express this kind of joy I just experienced 😊😊.. these shoppers are so lucky to receive a world class entertainment 🎁
David G. Definitely NOT lol, Colm Wilkinson cannot touch those low notes, OBC Enjolras and Marius are baritones, and the choices for the ending tempos are completely different. Don’t take away from these amazing performances.
@@josefalc29 It's the red flag that signified revolution. It also means in war "no quarter," meaning that they plan to kill your entire army or die trying
_TOMORROW WE’LL DISCOVER WHAT OUR GOD IN HEAVEN HAS IN STORE_ I get chills every time, every rendition by every company. Something about an entire company singing the climactic phrase in a song makes my heart soar.
for some reason I feel like she forgot why she was at the mall in the first place so she just bought some starbucks but then realised where she was meant to be and was like "oh shoot! I was meant to be at the thing but I'm holding starbucks....Oh screw em I can sing and hold starbucks"
SUCH BEAUTIFUL VOICES!!! I'm in awe of people who have these gifts, these wonderful voices, and they share it with the rest of us. Many thanks to whoever posted this!🙂
LOL . . . Just so you know, I am "the guy with the kid" . . . and "the kid," my daughter, played "Young Cosette" in the production. I would have ran onto the stage chasing after her and then joined the group but I had a complication . . . I had my gall bladder removed 20 hours before this!!! The show must go on! Thank you for noticing us! :) The fact that you thought we should "get out" before you realized we were a part of it makes me feel great!!! LOL . . . We did a pretty good job pretending to be surprised! LOL
We both started singing at 1:46. My daughter played "Young Cosette" in the production. :) I would have ran on like the others, but I had a complication. I had surgery to remove my gall bladder just 20 hours prior to this. I was still in my surgical bandages! LOL . . . . but the show must go on! :)
