This can only be likened to the Olympics for musical theatre. Getting to walk with your countries flag in such a prestigious setting and then come put with this history making performance.

I appreciate Japan getting a slightly longer part, because their sentences are often much longer and this way he didn't had to stop mid-sentence.

I love it for 3 reasons. 1. A lot of Jean Valjeans. 2. Lea Salonga's voice is so clear and cuts through so many voices. 3. The most powerful Do You Hear the People Sing and One Day More .

This was the most epic finale ever. If there was one last song on Earth, one grande finale, this should be it.

It shows just how truly international Les Miserables is. On the face of it it's the story of 19th century French protestors but it speaks to ALL people who are being downtrodden and have no rights.

Japan was the only non-Western country to participate, and I am proud that Takeshi Kaga, the only person of non-European sang in Japanese, an Asian language. And Japan is the third country where Les Misérables has been performed, after the United Kingdom and the United States. 日本が唯一、欧米以外の国から参加した。そして唯一の有色人種として加賀武史さんが、アジアの言葉である日本語で歌ってくれたことを誇りに思う。そして日本はイギリス、アメリカに次いで３番目にレミゼラブルが上演された国だ。

Can't explain why but having watched and heard that countless times I still can't watch it without a tear coming to my eyes. Astonishingly powerful.

I can only imagine how powerful this must have been to experience in person rather than through an old video. Because even through this video, you can hear just how powerful everyone's voices are together so I can only imagine hearing how booming it must have felt to witness this in person.

I love how fantastically unifying this is. If you consider the tensions that have existed between some these countries and what some have done to others in only the last hundred years, it is such a massive accomplishment that they all stand here together, as one.

Fun fact, Egill has appeared in two productions of Les Miserables here in Iceland. And playing a different leading role each time, first Valjean, then Javert. Wonder how many actors/singers can say the same (suspect not that many)

The Irish Jean Valjean has an incredible voice

Why does the Japanese version sound so damn good? That's not a read. It's just an utterly different language with a very different musical legacy. I really want to see more of the show in Japanese.

The first time I watched/listened to the 17 Valjeans sing I was stirred to tears. Regardless of how often I watch that one song let alone the entire concert I am still stirred to clap the performance.

The Icelandic part is beautiful. Roughly translates to “this is a song of worship the likes of which was never sung in a church”

It's nearly midnight which sounds like a great time for me to fall in love with some Irish dude from a video that's nearly twenty years old that he's only featured in for three seconds.

I must say, Egill Olaffson’s (Iceland) small part in this is my absolute favorite! Just look at how proud and elegant he looks!!

Norway was my favorite Austria, Netherlands and France were also amazing

Denmark is exactly how I imagine Valjean I kinda wished that France had a bigger part in this rendition bc the story took place in the country but the concert just seemed absolutely breathtaking I loved hearing Lea through the chorus of Valjeans, what a strong voice! It must have been such a memorable night for all the performers, musicians, and audience members involved

I envy all those people who were lucky to see this live.

Ok to be honest, I like Ireland’s the way best because it just sounds so much more powerful and expressive. But I’m so impressed by how synchronized everything is. Considering that most of the people here doesn’t understand most of the languages and how many strangers from different countries worked together to create this amazing performance
