Healy died at age 41. At that time, he's pretty well given up blues/rock guitar and had formed his own swing jazz ensemble with him blowing trumpet. What a loss the world has suffered by losing both of these mega-giants.
True Legends Gone Too Soon! More people need to know about these guys! Especially Les Paul! He was much more then a name of a guitar! Jeff Healey never got the credit he deserved! Incredible musician
It does break my heart that Jeff left us so early. I hope Les ran into him in guitar heaven and got another jam going. True story: I played a Healy song and a black friend of mine was convinced that Healy was black. When he saw the cover, he was like DAMN. Never heard a white boy sing and play like that. Then I told him he was blind... LOL
It don’t it get any more cool than Les Paul, maybe Billy Gibbons. Most really exceptional guitar players are very humble towards each other. We all should respect each other that way.
Jeff Healey is the only rock/blues musician that could actually perform real jazz music and not make a complete fool of themselves like all the other rock Gods did with les Paul on video tape for eternity.
I disagree. Jeff knew his bread and butter was clue/rock and roll all along. His love for 20's and 30's jazz never wavered. Look at the jazz oricle website as its well known about Jeff and what they were trying to do. My neighbor was the stand up bass player for years and toured with Jeff. Its how I met him
If only Les Paul could play rhythm once in his life so whoever he’s playing with could be heard. Chords. Hush chords. Stop showing off. We know your riffs. We know you’re a great guitarist. Let us hear someone else for two minutes, off God’s sake.
Kinda like playing with the kid who has the full set up in his parent's basement! He's gonna play over you no matter what! Granted LP is genius level but still...
