Merle Haggard was the only guest that recognized the players and band led their solos. He realizes who makes solos sound good

That's Jimmy Buffet? At first I thought it was Larry David, then Chevy Chase.

I was at that show. Before we went, I imagined the possibility of Keith Richards or Pete Townsend or Billy Gibbons sitting in with Les. Instead, I got Jimmy Buffett. So... disappointed.

Sorry but I don't think that this does a lot of justice to Les P and I think Chris Lentz is culpable of gross misrepresentation as to what contribution or personality Les Paul had on the music industry. Remember you are talking about a guy who franchised his name to a million dollar industry for Gibson. Chris Lentz has come up with an awful lot of poor material about Les Paul - probably way past his peak playing ability in fairness - but I feel very far from blessed that he ever got the contract to sell himself as he did Today I would guess that there are well over 1,000 players in the world who are better equipped to take over from him as the standard bearer of Gibson guitars. If I am wrong - anyone - show me the clip which demonstrates why Les Paul deserves his name. It's obviously way below Joe Pass and then - well forget it - the guy is dead in the water. That is the reality of hindsight.
