Andrea Riseborough said they even rehearsed all the choreography so why they didn't go ahead with it I don't know. The film seemed to sideline the Wormwoods.
Did any one notice that Matilda sings quiet and Mrs. Wormwood sings loud? And also Matilda starts off singing loudly in the beginning of quiet. And how Mrs. Wormwood starts of singing quietly in the beginning of loud?
@@tessolak7627 i mean thats basically whats happening its at the end of smell of rebellion where trunchbull is going full nutjob on miss honey and the kids so she would be panicking a bit
I was just cast as Mrs. Wormwood. Not worried about the singing/acting part, but as an overweight 33 year old for whom dancing is not a strong suit, I'm a bit nervous. Wish me broken legs (just not literal ones)!
Marissa Ellis CONGRATS!! I hope you break some legs! (Not literal of course) 😂😂 its a coincidence because I’m trying out for Miss honey for our youth theater and I’m so excited!
At 4:30 she sings: "It doesn't really matter if you don't know know't" and he sings: "As long as you don't know it with a bitter clout" but in the *Matilda Original Broadway Cast Recording - Behind The Scenes* video by *Broadway Records* she sings: "It doesn't really matter if you don't know much" and he sings: "As long as you don't know it with the volume up" so they have changed the lyrics.
actually, the ones they sing here are recorded in the original London recording. They changed it to suit an American audience but they must've decided the original lyrics worked better
@@shonafairbairn5910 well yes it does,, the “nowt” version is the original, the west end show came before broadway with Matilda, it’s originally a British show hence the change for American audiences
@@clemmiemayhew456 Make sure you make HUGE acting choices. If you are a dancer be prepared for some salsa/ballroom moves. Also having good comedic timing is a huge part of playing Mrs. Wormwood so make sure you focus on that! Best of luck!💜(and remember to be LOUD ofc 😉)
I was in matilda the musical as matilda and loud was the funniest scene and was like the only scene where i got a break and we would love to watch it during rehearsal! our mrs wormwood did leslie justice! so did our rudolpho he was hilarious!

Somewhere along the way, my dear You've made an awful error. You oughtn't blame yourself now Come along. You seem to think that people Like people, what are clever. It's very quaint, it's very sweet But wrong! People don't like smarty pants What go round claiming That they know stuff We don't know. Now, here's a tip. What you know matters less Than the volume with which What you don't know's expressed! Content, has never been less important. So you have got to be ... Loud! (Loud, loud, loud) Girl, you've got to learn to stand out And stick out from the crowd! (Crowd, crowd, crowd) A little less flat! (Flat!) A lot more heel! (Heel!) A little less fact! (Fact!) A lot more feel! (Feel!) A little less brains! (Brains!) A lot more hair! (Hair!) A little less head! (Head!) A lot more derriere! (Derriere!) No-one's going to tell you when to shake your tush well. You've got a light, don't hide it under a bushel! Oh, no-one's going to listen if you don't stand out! No-one's going to listen if you don't shout out! No-one's going to care if you don't care! So go and put some highlights in your hair! 'Cause you've gotta highlight what you've got! Even if, what you've got is not a lot! You've gotta be loud! (Loud, loud, loud) You've gotta give yourself a mission to shine. To stand out from the crowd! (Crowd, crowd, crowd) A little less bzz! A lot more zing! A little less pshh! A lot more schwang! A little less dressing like your Mum! A little more bum-ba-bum-bum ba-da-bum Oh, I look nice! You Don't! No-one's going to tell you when to wiggle your bum-ba! No-one's going to love you if you don't know the rhumba! Everyone loves a little something exotic! But learning a language is over the top it, Doesn't really matter if you don't know, know't! As long as you don't know it with a bitter clout! The less you have to sell, the harder you sell it! The less you have to say, the louder you yell it! The dumber the act, the bigger the confession! The less you have to show, the larger you dress it! You gotta get up! You gotta get up and be Loud! (Loud, loud, loud) You've gotta give yourself a mission to shine. To stand out from the crowd! (Crowd, crowd, crowd) A little less A lot more A little less A lot more No-one's gonna tell you when to, oh oh oh! No one's gonna show you when to, ah, ah, ah! If you want a little bit of mm, mm, mm You can't sit around going la, la, la! No one's gonna care if you don't care, So go and put some highlights in your hair! 'Cause you've got to highlight what you've got. And what do you got? You gotta be loud! (Loud, loud, loud) You've gotta give yourself a mission to shine. To stand out from the crowd! (Crowd, crowd, crowd) You so need a makeover! You gotta be loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud! Wooooooo! Yeah! Brrrrrrrooooooo! Nice! Check out the footwork - Jennifer Littleton! I am the sultan of samba, baby! Woo! Yeah! You gotta be loud! (Loud, loud, loud) You're gorgeous! You've gotta give yourself a mission to shine. To stand out from the crowd! (Crowd, crowd, crowd) Are you listening? You've got to be loud, loud, loud Oooh! Stand out from the crowd, crowd, crowd, crowd! Loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud, loud! Ohhh, you gotta be Loud!
You chose books, I chose looks - that's borrowed from the 1999 film I think, I don't think it's from the original book. Also - Miss Honey "I need to visit my students homes more often."
