This shows how good a book can be, compared to a TV series. His wife living in the same boardinghouse, his cars, Modesty being Welsh, these all add so much depth. Mod in the TV series is Irish, as am I, but this doesn't give the necessary droll humour needed..the Welsh have it in spades.!
@@mikewilliams4499 while they are both mysteries based on males who are slightly unconventional. i see hamish macbeth as much more of a cozy mystery than the dangerous davies books. imho, they are not in the same niche of mystery/police dramas.
PG Wodehouse Jeeves and Wooster Anything from PG Wodehouse (pronounced Woodhouse) is amazing. I’ve never heard anything like him. I promise you will never be disappointed!
I think Dangerous’s liver gets as much abuse as his exterior; SO much drinking. I love his interacting with the women; even though they are not “desirable” in the classic sense, he always treats them with dignity and warmth. My only complaint is the occasional “dumb” accent the reader gives Dangerous, but it’s a small price to pay. This is my third Dangerous book. I enjoy his love life with Gemma and his inherent humanity, as with “Harold.”
