crying!!!! I don't have teenagers yet, but this is very sage advice. I'm sorry and happy for you that you and your husband raised your daughter to be independent and strong. She can do her own thing and you can trust that she'll make good decisions and live her life the way she wants. But I know its hard because it's a totally new chapter for you as a mom.

Oh Mama, as a Grandma now, I can say it is so hard letting your kids go when they reach adulthood. I think the worst for me was knowing I could no longer jump in and help them as much or as easily when they had troubles. The first one I had move out moved across the country, which made it even worse. I was so happy for him, yet it tore my heart out that he would be so far away. In a relatively short space of time the remaining 2 moved out also. I definitely suffered from empty nest syndrome because my whole life and identity had become wrapped up in being a wife and Mom, being the one they turned to to have the answers with life. I will say it gets easier. They start returning home with spouses and grand babies. Now I know my role isn't over, it has just changed. I even a grandson I will be homeschooling. Hang in there Mama, it will get better, just different a bit than before. They still need you. 💕

How did Elizabeth know how to “take notes” in college..are the professors showing them, do they use laptops or write

Good question & I wish I had an answer for you. We tried various ways in high school & I failed to do it well. Looking back, I think part of the problem was simply lack of a need to figure it out. When she took classes at the community college, she did figure out a way that worked for her. Most students at the CC & her university take a laptop to class. She also has an ipad which she finds easier to take notes on sometimes, especially if the professor hands out a .pdf of the slides.
