I just discovered this series a year later, having watched multiple theory videos, and the structure of this is the best. by far. I'd like to see some in depth on various VCOs and how they work, with specific focus on how the various OSCs interact. I've been messing around in depth with VCVRack recently, and there is a serious limitation in in-depth music theory videos with regard to sound design.

Dear Spice/KSHMR, Thank you so much for these tutorials. They are like a sunglass on a sunny day, because I learn things I didn't know they were possible. Now the reason why I write this, I'm a real noob when it comes to music/producing. So it's sometimes hard to follow you. What theory book do you recommend, so I can learn all these tips/tricks? PS: I know this vid is old, but I really hope you respond. Thx

Why few people explain that not all the mesure of a bar are the same rhythmically speaking and accept any chord of the scale, first mesure is the strongest and requires a Tonal chord second mesure is more Weak and works well with a subdominant, third again is strong and requires again a tonal chord the 4 bar is the weakest and works well with a dominan chord, strong tonal area chords are the I the VI and the III, subdominat area chords are the IV and the II and IV and dominat area chords are V the VII and the III, considering this you can do any progression you want placing the chord acordly the how strong is the mesure in a Bar, progression examples: I-IV-III-V or III-IV-I-V or I-II-IV-III or maybe VI-II-III-V any progression must to take in consideration the Rithmical funccion (strong or Weak) of each mesure in a bar otherwise it sound strange i.e. II-IV-V-I which not sound bad but is very flat, resuming tonal chords in Strong mesure 1 and 3 subdominant chords in a weaker mesure 2 and dominant in the wekest mesure number 4, but could work in mesure 2 cause it is also a weak mesure.

2:00 I think you make made a mistake on the seventh interval of the Arabic scale. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_harmonic_scale Here, you can see the seventh is suppose to be a major seventh, but it isn't.
@KSHMRmusic
@KSHMRmusic 2 года назад
Great point both can work, sometimes the major 7 there can be weird though because you have three chromatic notes in a row (in A it would be G#, A, Bb) which sounds a bit funky when trying to write a melody. To my ear a G natural sounds better if you’ve heard the Bb recently in the melody

Well am sure it's not *A harmonic* or *natural minor scale* because he used extra note G (as he was defining he made it harmonic minor i.e. you take the natural minor 7th note one semitone up to get harmonic minor) so with the extra G note makes it a different scale which is known as *C Major Bebop* scale. By the way nice video. *At least got to know the secret that he used in his song secrets.

Obvias razones ).... :)
