@@TDempsey I would assume there was probably some deal behind the scenes where the powers that be offered to not come after him any further as long as he walked away from public life meaning youtube and the wsb subreddit so I wouldn't count on him coming back any time soon.

Just watched a documentary on this. I’m a father of 3 and worked inside a factory my entire life and know nothing about stock market. I’m just glad something so good happened to someone who was so dedicated and true to himself. You seem like a true genuine person and wish nothing but best things for you. @@soupnfresh apparently melvin capital shorted the stock like 140% over the shares in the market and since they had to re-buy the stocks to cover the shorts that would eventually create an excess demand on a limited supply so i think he was confident the short squeeze would happen but the velocity with which it happens was driven by WSB and apparently other investors like M. Burry, Chamath Palihapitiya etc
