Is that powdery mildew white dust on top and bottom of leaves that when I touch it, it seams to leave a clean spot...sorry Im new to this! And I have small bug holes on some leaves...some bottom leaves are falling off, i remove them...they fall off easy! And one echeveria wobbles in place after 3 weeks transplanted! The others are growing fast...that one is not growing and wobbles! What do you recommend?
The white stuff that comes off when you touch it is the natural protective coating on succulents called farina; it is not powdery mildew. If leaves are falling off very easily, the plant is overwatered. The wobbly one, I’d leave it alone and not water for a long time and wait, and ONLY water if it looks wrinkly
Alcohol kills mealybugs and even if I don’t see any I often do it just in case. I find it also cleans the plant and it may sterilize the freshly cut stump as well. But mainly I spray alcohol to treat and prevent mealybugs
I just started collecting succulents about 6 months ago, I have lost 2 plants. Your videos are very helpful. Most of my succulents are small and starters. Any advice for beginners? My succulents are a variety, I am leaning towards the Etravarias(spelling) I do have to watch my watering
My best advice for beginners is 1) if you aren’t sure if you should water, just don’t. 2) give them all lots of sun! 3) if they look good, leave them alone. Echeverias are my favorite by far, they are so pretty and rosette shaped but they need tons of sun or they stretch out and get ugly (can be fixed though). Also they easily die if you accidentally water one time when they don’t need it.
Thank you, I have my succulents under grow lights and I also have a few orchids. I love working with plants, I am handicapped now and tremors but take my time and enjoy. I love your videos and so many plants plus your info and your at ease. Keep videos coming
