That was really helpful as I am on a Next Gen 20 now and digging stormwater in a subdivision and about to start the sewer lines so its a good fun job except the dirt is Clumpy Clay and sticks in the bucket so I am finding that banging to get it out often moves the machine offline which is a pain in the ass. SO thanks for the great video and tips I will try to use them in the operations. Cheers Garry
Nice machine! Something like that with all the gizmos on would be a dream. I just bought an old 2004 Kobelco SK75UR for my property and it's surprisingly challenging having no experience at all and having no leveling technology. Just had a go at digging around 2 trees with a 300mm toothed bucket to remove them as they were leaning. Darn roots are stronger than I thought! Haha. Might need a ripper attachment. And will be digging in the septic system and power, so this trenching vid was a great help! Cheers mate.
I just bought a Kobelco 75UR as well - a 2002 model with a knuckle boom. Unfortunately, it has absolutely no throttle control. It's been wired for max RPM and I have no idea how to fix it. An excavator operator I spoke to just said, "Deal with it." He reckons in a year I won't even think about it anymore. Tough when you're learning though, particularly as the hydraulic oil warms up it gets really powerful. Don't know what to do really as I need a hydraulic post hole auger and I don't really want it running flat out all the time.
@@ThePaulv12 The trottle lever is typically on the right hand side behind the consol where the start key is. If you have the lever there I assume it isn't responding? Mine had the same issue. The throttle cable was broken midway. I replaced the cable and worked as it should again. My knuckle boom ram just started leaking so I'm in the process of splitting the boom to get access to the ram. Getting parts for these has been a bit difficult as they are 20yrs old now.

I’ve just got my excavator ticket and I’m pretty confident digging trenches but I learnt on land that was so rocky. I would love to sit and dig trenches all day. I’ve never seen a bucket that tilts like that
Yeah they call them "tilt buckets" or "tilt hitch" if it's the hitch. They have pros and cons but they are fun and allows you to cut cool angles and means you can dig level even if you can't get you machine level
I've gotta say your a gun bro, I've seen a few of your vids now and props mate. That said, any chance you are a gun on a 5t excavator with no tilt bucket and no GPS?? I ask because 90% of my work is super detailed excavations and I'd love to your tips and tricks video on a small basic rig

I’m struggling to do a cubicle at the end of my trench bro do you have any tips when taking the final middle part out of the middle of cubicle without the trench walls collapsing?
By cubicle I’m thinking you mean the box out for the pit yeah? For me when I’m digging them I’ll just start to chip away with my gp bucket getting it to the rough shape and then I’ll throw my mud bucket on and polish up all the sides. If you do slow consistent passes chipping down the wall whilst pulling back toward the machine you should be pretty fine as far as collapsing goes. It also depends on the material in the ground, some times there’s nothing you can do about it you just need to make sure it’s safe for anyone getting into that trench and that it’s not overly big to save on sand etc. Another thing you could do is right before you get to the end of the trench is start to dig out your pit first and then pull the final bit of trench into the pit after it’s dug but I think the walls would blow out if you did it that way as well, best thing I could recommend is finishing the trench and then just taking some nice slow consistent passes and you should be sweet.
@@jaydenkraft yeah cuz I had a practical test today and I failed because of that part when I pulled the final middle part of the trench out into the pit because the right wall collapsed. Everything was smooth until it got to that final part.
Ahh okay gotcha. What I do is I get all the way to the end of the trench and dig pretty close to the pin/stake where it’s marked for the pit to be excavated and make sure my trench stops inside the area where I’m going to dig my pit and then bulk out your pit taking slow passes especially on the far side where the trench is already dug and when you come to do one last clean out of the trench to pull the dirt into the pit just go nice and steady so you don’t grab the edge where the trench intersects the pit and you should have no problems. Hope that makes sense
GPS has made operating most heavy equipment much easier than back in the day, but I still like having all the surveying experience in my computer/brain so I can problem solve on the fly :) And that swivel bucket is pretty nice too but the times I thought it would be really handy is on sloped ground so I didn't have to level off the machine. Just run the bucket level and not bother ramping up one track to level off?
