i’m using this tutorial because it’s so easy and simple and i’m trying to make a hat for a character from genshin impact and every other tutorial was so complicated! (i used the tutorial for the shape of the hat)

I need to buy the fabric and lace but I have everything else done so far! it's my first time DIYing something for renaissance fair and it's looking great so far (not super even but it'll be okay) I'm planning on doing the fabric the way you did, and also adding some extra touches (flowers, butterflies maybe, beading). I hope it turns out great and all I'll need after that is a skirt (and maybe some makeup) and I'll be ready!
this actually helps me for a different reason i've been trying to find a traditional chinese hat called a mi lí/mili, which is from the tang dynasty but i haven't been able to find any reliable site that seemed like the milis were good quality the shape of the hat is somewhat similar to a mili, so i could follow the first steps of this tutorial and try to make my own until i find a high quality one online ty:)
You can find fabric at Walmart, Joanne, Hobby Lobby and probably Micheals. Amazon also sells fabric online but it’s better to see how much fabric you are actually buying. You could also use old clothes! Hope this helps 💕
Just pin a strip of paper in the middle of your cardboard and poke your pencil at the other end of the paper then draw the circle there is tutorials on YT !!
just buying a set of colored bedsheets works. and itll pry be a lot less expensive as well than buying fabric. Walmart has sets for about 9-10 dollars.
