I love all the hacks on your and Jess Oklaroots videos.....my little hack that I came up with (and I'm sure a lot of others have too) is to use 2 1/2" ribbon for the card pockets.....works well!!!
I just made my first purse pal today! My hack for the lining on the credit cards I uses lightweight cutaway embroidery interfacing. Worked like a charm!!!
Thank you, I really enjoyed your tutorial. You are a fabulous instructor, so calm and explain every step. Thanks also for showing what punch tool you use. I just ordered it from Amazon🤣
I’m just making the Purse Pal and although I knew to top stitch the strap first, I wasn’t sure what snap to use so I was worried about that and put on the snap before top stitching lol. Thanks for all your videos, you’re awesome 💜
I just finished using the Pellon black "Cambric" fabric that is in the interfacing section. It is non fusible and easily cuts into 2" non-fraying strips for the credit card slots.
Don't know how I missed the notification on your live just watched it last night you and Dan make a great team!! I think I have bought every bag you've done a tutorial on lol . Great video just bought the Purse Pal pattern thank you for sharing your talent!!!
I am 64 years old. Your videos and your sympathy give me strength to sew. 🥰 I live in Portugal and with the time difference I can't get the rights.😔 One question: Do you run the stitching over the double-sided tape? Does it harm the needle? Which double sided tape do you recommend?
Have you made the extra large purse pal wallet? Is there a size dimension difference on what makes it the xl size? I have large hands and love the idea
I had purchased a wallet where the manufacturer used the landscape material for the card slots and the card slots did not stand up to wear and tear. Just an FYI if anyone is planning on using it.
Where did u get your waterproof liner canvas? The canvas is fabric right? How do u put the printed vinyl and heat transfer vinyl liner together? Sorry I’m new.
Love your tutorials. Straight to the point. Can’t wait to make my first purse pal. Do you think it’s possible to add the HTV to cotton fabric instead of vinyl?
I’m not sure about that. You have to interface the cotton if you are doing thay for the outside, so that will be what shows…. No idea. Maybe do some test samples first
Great tutorial! I bought the pattern yesterday but haven’t made it yet. Sorry for the many questions. Im new at sewing bags on my machine. I normally make bags on my embroidery machine. Your vinyl is beautiful. Are both sides where you placed your zipper and card slots all HTV? Im very familiar with HTV, I have lots too, but my heat press doesn’t have a wool setting (it’s a swing away). Would you happen to know what setting to use ? Ive not heard of self healing fabric? Are you using polyester embroidery thread? Are those spring snaps you’re using? Again, Sorry for the many questions. Thank you
I have a wallet that I bought several years ago. Identical to this one with the exception of this doesn't have an ID window on the back side of the slip pocket. everything else is pretty much the same. I use it all the time, so when I saw this pattern I bought it. I'll probably make it with cork. can I put HTV on cork?
Yes you can, I made my first test wallet with cork and used HTV on it. I also use Jelly Roll strips that have pinked edges for the card slots fabric. Perfect width at 2.5 inches and no cutting.
Thank you for this tutorial. I missed the kive and I apologize for so many questions. What did you use to poke the holes for the card slots? The Japanese hole punch? And if so, what size punch did you use?
What is the waterproof canvas that you usually use? I'm new to bag making. Do you have a link? Is there a certain color that you tend to use or do you usually buy it in a ton of colors? Thanks.
@@SiahSwag thank you so much! And I see you use the E6000 as well which my husband has...that's great to see that as well! Also do you or does anyone else know if the Camsnap press can be used with any kind of snaps or is that only used with camsnap snaps only?
so you do vinyl and HTV? I'm very intrigued by this. I just bought the pattern today for this wallet but am trying to do more research before executing this. I'm just confused on how to use the HTV on this? How do you attach?
@@boonchilla Hi, I don't have a heat press, just a plain iron. I put some scrap fabric over the HTV and pressed down with my iron. Do not put water in the iron, no steam, it works great.
@@boonchilla you can also use a hot dry iron but cover the HTV with fabric or parchment paper. Use pressure. I have a heat press from Cricut but was lazy lol
