Done right, organized religion means a community of believers organized around Jesus Christ’s teachings. Find a church community centered on Jesus Christ with the help of missionaries: www.churchofjesuschrist.org/c...
One of the benefits of regular church worship is the supportive community that can come with it. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you’ll find the organized part of “organized religion” often looks like organizing a group of volunteers to help a family move into their new house, make meals for someone who just had a baby, clean up a neighborhood park, or host a blood drive.
Come to worship God and draw closer to Jesus Christ. Stay to make new friends and find service opportunities. If you’re interested in seeing what organized religion can add to your life, friendly missionaries from your local congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can let you know when and where we meet, help you know what to expect, and then be there to greet you on Sunday. Converted to this church almost 50 years ago as a young adult-the best decision I have ever made in my life. This is where I found God.

It's beautiful, because this is what it is actually like in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can attest to that

Yes! Organized religion is meant to bring us together to learn and care and be kind, not to shame or pit people against each other. Yes, some religions as a whole do that, and yes, even some people and/or wards in our religion have fallen into that trap. But it is not what we are meant for. And there are so, so many of us who are working to be kind and inspire others to be kind and caring in the way Jesus taught. That is what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is meant to be like. If you can’t find that kind of good person, BE that kind of good person, and you’ll find others one day.

This commercial is spot on! Just last week we had a service project helping someone remodel his house. He is in a sling and can’t do it himself so we all pitch in. It’s beautiful and we know God is pleased with our efforts to help His children.

Good stuff. I didn’t think missionaries were allowed to do house and yard work.

They are! When they don't have appointments to teach people about the gospel or other commitments, doing service projects for other people is often how they fill their time.

I remember stacking firewood, raking lawns, framing a house, and volunteering at a food bank as a missionary in Washington State. As much as I loved teaching the gospel, those service activities were also a lot of fun.

I was totally against "organized religion" until I met my wife and learned what God's version of organization was and joined the LDS church.

Sometimes they can. It depends on the situation. You would need to go and talk to the bishop of the ward you are in, and see if they can. It can depend on things like if the members in your area pay enough tithing for the bishop to have the money to lend. Also, if the needy household is needy due to drug or alcohol use, or gambling, then the bishop generally won't pay for things like rent, though he may help with food or perhaps other household necessities. Usually, those tithing dollars are spent on members who have paid a tithe regularly and are going through a hardship and need a temporary aid, but you don't necessarily need to be a member to receive help. All of that said, however, each case is different, and the bishop will pray about each case and handle each case individually, and with God's guidance. Afterall, he is responsible for using the tithing funds well. Those tithing dollars are often the few dollars scraped together and paid by members whom may have very little themselves, but whom still wish to obey God's law of tithing, and therefore give of what little they have for others in need as well as for missionary service and temples and meeting houses being built. I personally have gone through some very lean times and yet made sure to pay tithing, as I know my blessings from tithing are great. I also had the blessing to be helped once by the bishop of my ward, by getting much needed groceries for my family. It was a very humbling experience, but one that surely blessed me and my family. Generally, the bishops strives to give a hand UP rather than a hand OUT, and can help with things like recommending you to people who might help with education, a job, or community resources. Again, every case is individually prayed about, and because members who pay into tithing often do so under their own extreme circumstances, the bishop is careful and prayerful about what he gives out and how he can help those in need within his area of responsibility. I hope this answer helps you out. 😊😊❤

Our church has assisted members with rent and bills countless times, and we help people take steps to better their situations so they aren't struggling and can support themselves and their families independently.

Guys God is one. He has no son daughter wife father mother. He created the first man (our all human's father) from nothing. So why he cannot create Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) without father. Please research before it is too late. Devil is playing with the faith of you guys.

There are many ways people have interpreted the nature of God. There are also many scriptures in the old and new testament that confirm the beliefs and faith of members of Jesus Christ's church. I have felt God's love for me as I've served others and dedicated time in fasting and prayer to seek his will and form a relationship of trust and love with him. My experience begs me to ask you this question: Did God create such a narrow way for us to get back to him that it requires half of his words to be ignored by us?

@@BobDunlock my dear friend i could not understand your question, can you ask in a detailed way. God Almighty bless you. Actually I'm not native English speaker. English is not my mother tongue. 🤍

@@GRSpiritsWHCT Of course, my friend. I'll do my best to ask the same question in a different way. Does God judge us by our hearts, or by how well we understand his being?
