oh I feel bad for her, she sees the comments... and they're not even criticism, they're all just calling her a goat and pick me...

As a vocalist myself let me tell you. The treatment of the girls of both Illit and Le Sserafim is absolutely brutal. Yes, their vocals need work and I will not deny that. Heck anyone improve their vocals. The mocking and "jokes" made towards these girls is so unjustified. What makes it worse is the fact minors are involved. Imagine, this was YOUR performance and imagine people making videos mocking your performance. I don't think many of you could handle it. Some would say they would they would enjoy that people are honest but what about the mockery, death threats, etc. We as humans are not built for that. Yes, that performance is lacking but does it justify the hate these girls receive? No, it doesn't and never will. Instead of thoughtful and empathetic criticism theres mockery. Who is this helping? Certainly not the girls. When these girls do improve because I see potential. People will justify the dogpiling and hate as criticism and then accept it when they get better. It happened with Dua Lipa, Wonyoung, and now these girls. Again, the way these girls are supposed to handle everything like adults especially the teenagers in this situation. The adultfcation of these girls is insane. Their reactions to this backlash are human of them. And people are still mocking them. "Handle it and get better" Do you know what these people sound like ....generations before us. Yes, these girls can do better but let's be honest the K-pop community derails progress before it starts.

It’s always the HYBE/JYP producers who are giving them idols songs out of their ranges, Moka has such a nice singing voice imo and when I watched MR removed of Lucky Girl Syndrome she sounded so good

I dont think she is a mezzo, she sounds like a not well trained soprano, but I do agree with some of your points. I think that the shakeness aspect of her voice when singing is a result of the pressure and anxiety she feels, she needs a proper vocal training of course (they all do and that is HYBE fault for not giving them the necessary tools to grow as a artist), but for the kind of music they have what they got is kinda fine. The hate they received (not talking about the valid criticism, but the hate per si), was very disgusting, what makes me even angrier is the fact that those same haters are begging for empathy for the ones they like, She is young and will improve a lot PS: I usually discount all "live" perfomances of the show because they are heavily edited, with pitch and entonation corrected to a point that the voice has no changes and sound like a robot, that one from Tomboy is a example, but she running and singing was very good, never saw that before and now I will search about it

moka is a bold and talented performer. she's my bias. yunah is my second bias because of how sincere and strong her personality is.

I’m a vocalist, I’ve been one for a good 8 years and have a similar range to her. I am a fan of her vocals, they’re sweet and nice to me. I believe that she sings pretty well and the range thing is definitely not her fault. I root for her always not only as a vocalist but a fellow performer. Hwaiting Moka and ILLIT! ❤️

I always thought Moka was a bad vocalist but I felt really bad for her because she was always mocked. but now I feel even sadder for Moka as she’s not a bad vocalist. this video made me think about how a singer with a deep voice wouldn’t be expected to hit high notes by their fans but someone with a higher voice is expected to hit low notes. it’s like this illusion since we’re so used to mega talented singers going viral for starting off at a middle range(?) and then hitting super high notes. thanks for this video, it may not of educated everyone but it certainly educated me

hybe has a problem where they give half their groups songs that aren't in their range and idk why. lsfrm, txt, illit, and even bts all struggle w/ this problem. somebody needs to sit whoever is in charge of producing their songs down and yell at them for being so incompetent lol

Moka has a great voice, but Hybe is giving illit songs that are NOT in their range. Imo, lgs is more in their range as they sing it more comfortably.

I wouldn’t say she’s a Mezzo, none of the members in ILLIT are tbh. None of them have the weight to their voice a Mezzo Soprano would have, especially not Moka. She’s definitely an undeveloped soprano, I hope Hybe gives them the right vocal training so they can really shine nd feel confident on stage! Also great video, not getting enough attention!

This is so true! And they appeared on Yonsei Akaraka, and Moka's vocal in LGS is better in Kwave! She did the "Lucky Girl Syndrome Oh" so good! And Moka sang so good in the performance with JYP! I swear, the hate on ILLIT and Le Sserafim is so forced. Ya'll dont have the right to make fun, mock these idols and just say, "Chill out.. We are just criticising.." oh and the Criticising is NOT criticising. Its just straight up HATE. Same thing with Le Sserafim, when they actually perform good, no one notices or no one believes them because of Coachella incident. And anything related with these groups, they get forced and massive hate. People be saying HYBE manages these groups poorly and saying its not the girls fault, but they still hate on them.

I have to admit, I was disappointed to hear how she sang during the encore but knowing that it was due to the song being way below her natural range and how shes sung much better with other songs has opened my eyes. hybe is a major issue when it comes to giving their groups songs that fit their range. because they’re money obsessed, they release songs that they think are most likely to hit - despite it being a disadvantage to their artists. it’s really starting to piss me off. all of ILLIT is so young and doesn’t deserve the relentless bullying they’re experiencing.. these are real people behind the screens. you can’t bully them into improving.

On r u next performances you can listen to her singing with a full voice, meanwhile on magnetic it sounds like she's forcing it. Again this is what happened to le ssera girls. thank you so much for this video! apparently, a lot of people (especially kpop stans and gg antis) think bullying artists online is normal and fun because they probably "won't even see it anyway". as a big fan of newjeans myself, and also a fan of illit (i don't particularly stan lsfm because their songs aren't my style, but i support the girls), something i've noticed is that all of the groups above have a somewhat "similar" vocal ability. what really differs from them is the way their songs are picked. despite the controversies, min heejin and ador do a phenomenal job at choosing the right songs for newjeans. they seem to really know what fits best for the girls in terms of range, stability, and even the right choreography that allows them to be able to sing while dancing. in conclusion, even if newjeans are lacking in some aspects and need to improve, their company doesn't let the public see it by always making right use of their strong points. on the other hand, whoever at hybe is responsible for doing the same for illit and le sserafim, is doing it wrong. they are basically picking songs that are beyond their current abilities, not only out of their range but also with hard choreo. and even though they are great songs (magnetic is MY soty), it's no use if you can only sing them at the studio and not perform well live. if chosen the right songs, they also have the chances of enhancing their strong points, proving their talents to the public and stoping this stupid hate wave. by saying all this i'm NOT denying the need of improvement and the importance of good training. idk how companies train idols, but it also seems that ador's method? of training has been showing more results and effectiveness than hybe's. hybe PLEASE manage your groups better 😭 in conclusion, blaming the girls for it, calling them lazy and negligent is simply insensitive and cruel. we have no ideia what goes on behind the cameras and how hard they're working. writing awful comments about how bad and instable they sound won't do any good, but hurt them. i truly hope they can heal from all this and move forward. there are a lot of people who genuinely care about them and believe in them.

Honestly, moka is not technically impressive. Naturally she doesn’t seem to have a strong breath capacity. But that is not why she is an idol. Solo singer is one thing, but that isn’t the case. She is a very impressive and captivating performer, her personality is soft yet intriguing, and most importantly her vocal color is unique. These are the mixed qualities that deserved her the spot because this is a group effort, not solo. Good for her to keep her head up during these times!

I think with Moka the way her voice is makes it harder for her to sound good when she sings. I feel a lot of people won’t/don’t like her voice, but I actually do. It’s really cute and unique. Other than that I think she should also work on keeping her voice stable. Even when she sings parts in her range you can still hear her voice shake.

She is neither the best singer nor the most stable one BUT she has a beautiful and distinctive vocal tone (what makes her my bias in this group) and it's just the beginning. We can talk about bad singing in maybe 2 years if she still sounds like this (and it wasn't even as bad as some have claimed)

As a Japanese my brain hurt at the beginning of the video when the Japanese language was written with Hangeul haha. Moka sounded amazing tho. Also while we are at the topic of Japanese and Korean.... for us pronouncing Korean is very hard because it has a lot of consonants grouped together while Japanese sounds have a vowel after almost every consonant. That is why singing in Korean (or any other foreign language) is very hard and whenever I try to do it I focus more on pronouncing the sounds correctly and in order to not sing total gibberish and embarrass myself which results in my singing ability greatly decreasing. I'm not saying it is like that for all Japanese people but Moka might have a similar problem.

I feel really bad about Moka, and she reads the comments too? I hope she reads these comments instead! Moka is such an amazing idol, sings beautifully, dances beautifully and looks amazing! Moka will always be our adorable idol, and im glad those comments don't get to her too often.

She is absolutely not a Mezzo Soprano. Mezzos can go pretty low with relative comfortableness (around F3) and extend to D3 or C3 with difficulty. Moka fits more into Soprano range. A3 is where her comfortability ends, so you shouldn't really include that in her tessitura range. Also you can tell by where she sounds the best. Sopranos sound the best in their high range, while Mezzos sound best in their mid range. Moka sounds best when she sings high rather than mid, so she's a Soprano. You can really hear it when you compare Moka and Yunah singing the same part (Yunah is a Mezzo). It's so much more difficult for Moka.

What I noticed from the videos she gets hated on are that her voice is really shaky there, which leads to some unexpected note changes. Hopefully she’ll able to sing more stable in the future, after more practice. Btw I kinda prefer hearing her sing in lower range, she seems to shine a lot there. I like ILLIT, but they definitely need some more practice in general. Despite that, these girls are talented and I wanna see them improve and prove people wrong!

Not gonna lie, I was on the team "what the hell they were thinking debuting a girl that can't sing?" Cause her voice sounded so bad for me, but after this video I can see that was unfair and she can sing just not what Hybe is offering them (I'm still not a fan of her timbre, but maybe if I listen a few times or in a different type of song she'll grow on me)

It's also so unfair that her and the other members get so much hate considering they were in a survival program and knetz PICKED these girls to debut. Sure, Hybe had something to do with the final lineup but they would not go against who were the top picks throughout the show, and from what little I know about it, these girls were always really popular (especially from the Korean viewers side). So there were many showcases of their vocals and talents, yet when they debut they suddenly get so much horrible hate. This 180 of public reception must be so hard to deal with, I hope they survive it.
