Certainly enjoyed watching this podcast with Jeffrey Cariaso. As a Fil-Am myself (plus a long time PBA fan) it was certainly a joy to see the influx of fellow Fil-Ams in the PBA. I can relate with them especially since their movements on the basketball court could be said to be more calculated, structured, and consistent when compared with the local players. I wasn’t a professional player but as a youth player I was coached by Americans. So I understood what fundamentals were all about. To include the consequences of not following the fundamentals. And when I became a youth basketball coach I attended clinics conducted by either NBA players or NBA coaches. Where preparation, communication, organization, and when to adjust are very important in playing and coaching the game. 🏀
Thanks for this Let it Fly! Been an Alaska fan since Dondon Ampalayo days...1996 Grandslam team is my favorite PBA Team of all time... Saludo ako sayo Coach Jeff! my 1 hour, 17 minutes and 21 seconds is not wasted! watched from start to the end... :D
I will always love The Jet not just because of the basketball but for my personal life as well. I came from a broken family and for years (Younger Side) I always miss my father since I'm currently living with my mom before. And when I got a chance to open the TV (I think it was on IBC channel before?) I saw him and he was a look like my dad. So since then, I always wait and wait for Alaska game just to watch him thinking that he is my dad. So if you are reading this Mr. The Jet, thank you. Not just by playing but also helping me feel a little bit better when I'm young. ❤❤
Alala ko around 2013, pareho kami ng pinag-cacarwashan sa may horse shoe area. Asst coach sya ng san mig coffee nuon tas nagkakantsawan kami in tagalog about sa series nila with petron dahil JMF fan ako hehe
You can easily tell that Jeff has a good heart that he is a good person. If you notice he always say us, them not me, I. He respect and give credit to the people around him. And yeah coach you look good and fit for your age. Good luck sa coaching career and sa private life.
I kinda feel Tin (probably 'coz she's too young to remember anything) completely ignored the fact that Cariaso and Vince Hizon were the only Fil-Ams in the league at one point in the mid-90's so this episode didn't really talk a whole lot about his playing career. I would have asked Jeff about how Rudy Distrito almost ended his career just when it was getting started, I'd also ask about the 2002 National Team because he was the alternate both in '94 and '98. Maybe I'd also ask a bit more about his family life. It feels as if they based the questions off a wikipedia page when Cariaso has such a wealth of experience in the PBA. Sayang.
