It would be cool yeah, I think that could be an idea for a sort of “good ending”, not necessarily pacifist, but an ending that gives kris more control over their actions

Chapter 7 We getting back our discarded vessel and Kris getting HIS soul And we go back in town and do things (Thats for pacifist actually) Also as another idea i really wish he able play after ending and go complete all dark worlds again,but maybe with increased Darkners stats

@@lebruhjames9378 Nah. The player would be the asshole who makes those decisions. Kris would make decisions they believe is right according to them.

Idea: if you let Kris choose, the decision actually matters for once, and has some impact instead of being just a different dialogue option

I actually think there could be the possibility that Kris is the narrator.

I think the narrator is Kris (or at least a rapresentation of Kris's thoughts) because the narrator knows about Kris's past and their family (like when checking the picture on the fridge: "It's a picture of you, your mother and your brother", or when checking the wallpaper of the computer in Toriel's classroom at school showing Kris and Asriel dressed for Halloween and the narrator knows it's from 8 years ago). Also, the narrator reacts the same way Kris reacts to stuff (being excited when we find moss for instance) and describes Kris's stuff with very few words (makes sense if you consider that Kris has low regard for themself)

@@Bluesit32 well from what we can piece together so far,Kris while being a little on the creepy or mischievous side does not like the idea of actually hurting someone, as shown by them liking spooking Noelle back in the day but if you trigger the electric fence on her Kris gains a hurt look on their face. Also from the stories people around town say they really care about their family.

@@samvanroon5041 No, they get a hurt look on their face when Noelle does it back. I think they're more upset that we engaged in something they used to do with Noelle, living vicariously through them. Having the laugh they should have had. While it can be assumed Kris cares about their family, they mostly seem attached to Asriel. Toriel never questions how distant Kris acts in the game...and since she tells Susie that Kris "does this sometimes" when they're "washing their hands", it's nothing new. They also seemed more ashamed of Asgore than feeling any sympathy for him. Or perhaps anger. I just had a thought. We know Asgore was chief of police once. Probably when Noelle's sister December went missing. I think his failure to find her is why he was fired. He lost the mayor's daughter. Kris may feel some resentment toward him for that. After all, Asgore seems quite surprised to see Kris in chapter one.

I like to think it's because we're controlling a SOUL that's controlling Kris in turn. Something like two or three layers separating us from the piano. It'd be like trying to play it with three pairs of gloves on at the same time.

They don't HAVE any. Someone who knows how to play piano doesn't look up tutorial videos of how to play the piano.

@@heenthousiast383 ? It's just slightly confusing when people refer to character by the wrong pronouns since it makes it unclear who's being referred to. Kris is always referred to using they/them throughout the entire game so it's weird when people say smth entirely different

It could be that since Frisk is more of our persona/a blank slate character, while Kris isn't, it could be that the player has trouble controlling a body that doesn't want to be controlled, as Kris has their own consciousness and control.

Exactly. We tell them what to do, not how to do it. That's why when we select "join" when Berdly gives us the option, Berdly says not to say it so incredulously. Or why when selecting, "video games are my life", Susie says it was the most monotone response she ever heard.

@@ZoofyZoof messing up in front of Susie is something Kris definitely wouldn't want to happen, yet he fails at playing still. *That's* why people interpret it as the soul lacking the skills to play the piano (or, as I personally do, the "controls" over Kris not being delicate enough to actually pull the playing part off).

@@NeverbitFG It is hinted at literally everywhere in Chapter 2 that Kris is still practicing how to play the piano and the piano you actually get to play is explained to be missing the good keys. Like Sherlock Holmes says, it's elementary. (He says that, right?) Kris doesn't actually know how to play the piano. He's still practicing. There is not even a good piano in town. The only evidence that Kris may know how to play good is that monster in the room, but it is a common joke that monsters enjoy horrible music, and they're likely telling that to encourage Kris to get better.

We do let them control themselves. I didn't tell Kris to block the King's attack on Susie, did you? I mean, I would have, but the option wasn't there. And that's the thing. We aren't in control. We are given choices, sure, but being given options still means we're at the mercy of the one providing them.
