Yep- I live in the rural red part of a dark blue state, & was hired as a part-time grocery clerk in '10, made full-time in '12, made dept buyer in '15, put out well over 150 job apps in '17 (all grocery / deli / kitchen places in a 4 county radius...) Got *1* call-back from a creep on private who asked some ridiculously intrusive questions "to see what we're dealin' with here" 😱🤮😡 I'll be going on 15 yrs next july, w/ 10 yrs as a dept buyer. Gonna be there 13 more yrs too, (until I'm 72) bcz I'm making more $, at $2.50 over min wage mind you, than I *ever* could teaching at the local universary in my primary fields. I mean, what is wrong with this picture?
