Cactus, East town theater Detroit 1970s, Rusty Day,Jim McCarthy,Tim Bogart, Carmine Appice! Carmine Still Rocking! Great new Album Out! Thanks for the Memories!
Many, many nights spent at the old Eastown Theater. Never missed Cactus or Humble Pie for some of the hardest rock in a small 2500 seat venue. The place rocked, (even up on the mezzanine)
In 1971 I climbed through a bathroom window at the Syracuse War Memorial and saw Cactus. My first and definatly not my last rock concert. They say you never forget your first. LOL
@dan coleman The slow delivery kinda reminds me of The Doors. Check out the live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8pN_WmdCQMk.html BTW thanks for turning me on to them.
Yes he is!! One of my alltime favourite rockguitarists, he played at the age around of 17 in Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels and in the Seventies in the Band Rockets!! Love his style of playing and met him after a concert here in Vienna, Austria!! Very nice guy!! Love Cactus!!
And don't forget about the two albums Jim McCarty did (pre Cactus) with The Buddy Miles Express: Expressway To Your Skull and Electric Church. RIP to Rusty Day.
Es un grupo demasiado bueno ,,para haberlo escuchado aquí en México ,,claro 70s,,el mejor rock de todos los tiempos ,,la mezcla de blues y Rock ,,,muy propios su estilo
If Carmine is on drums, it's Cactus. McCarty is also. Loved this band when I was a young man. I thought they faded away. Most of those guys are pretty old. Small Faces, Vanilla Fudge supergroup.
Kick ass Rock and Roll. Don't need the make up like KISS or big light shows like most Rock groups .Great guitar Jim and Carmine fantastic at 65 Evangelist Roger Mansour former Leslie West Vagrants Drummer
In 2010 it would have been Werner Fritzschings on guitar as McCarty had left in 2008 but returned in 2011. Werner Fritzschings was guitarist on "Hot N' Sweaty" Cactus' 1972 album.
Jimmy McCarty never left Cactus when they were resurrected in 2006. He was going to quit after the 1st tour(2006) if Tim Bogert was to remain in the group. Tim quietly retired and is living in California.
It's amazing that Carrmine Appice went from influencing John Bonham from Led Zeppelin, and his band Cactus influencing Van Halen but no one cares about him today.
Nobody played the guitar like McCarthy, possibly he is not the best according to experts, but in him we can find creative outbursts of Hendrix, the technical flashes of Alvin Lee and jhonny winter without fuss but with mastery, and in him we can find the best of the best in rock blues
Ted Nugent said McCarty is as important to rock and roll as Chuck Berry; obviously an exaggeration (as usual from Ted) but it shows how vast McCarty's influence is amongst other musicians.
Hate how everyone nowadays complaints about half stacks and stage volume....be more like cactus. more stack is more better. or at least one decent one per guy
This guitarist is certainly very good but he is good for the style and fit in this particular band. I don’t know if you get what I’m trying to get across. He certainly has talent but as good as Beck I don’t think so. You must have access to some potent weed.
Beck was hardly talked about until he passed away, even though he was known as a great guitar player. He was too eclectic with his guitar sounds and it lessened the appeal of his songs. For me, he was at his best on Truth with the Jeff Beck Group. You could make a case for his Yardbirds stint.@@georgefustos7243
Jim McCarty has some great 1970s chops but it's hard to hear a distinct McCarty style. And he needed stage presence a bit more like Tim. Let Jimmy get histrionic and command the spotlight but Jim needs to lose the Lurch persona. -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
I could hear Alvin Lee of Ten Years After, Leslie West of Mountain and other popular guitarists of his day, in his sound. But you're right, no distinct sound. But so what, he sounds really good, and embellishes the sound, it's a welcome addition to the music.
Since Chile 🇨🇱 great Remenber. Bye .
