All fanbases are annoying, but lets not act like they are all *equally annoying* lol Ive never had a Wale fan attack me over not liking one of his songs, but *Eminem* fans will pop up on a Lil Pump video to explain why Eminem is better than Lil Wayne. 🤦♂️🤷♂️
c you comparing an artist that no one really talks about to a guy that’s known by almost everyone. Ofc Eminem’s gonna have the most annoying fanbase, such an idiotic comparison.
"If I give an artist a less than stellar review I'll be hearing about it all day everyday sometimes for the rest of my life" Fantano throwing shade at Kanye fans lmao
the only fanbase to come close to ruining something for me was the rick and morty fan base...the show is pretty funny but dear god most of the fans....
0COOL fuckin facts I never watched it and intend to stay that way. I have so far never met a rick and morty fan who doesn’t act like “Rick and morty is so deep. You have to have a high IQ to truly understand it. It’s the best show ever, and I’m a higher being for watching it.” Like FUCK OFF with that bullshit!
i've watched Rick & Morty and i like it, but i do not think i'm superior or smarter than others because of it, that's absurd. if you're smarter than someone else, it's because you're more academically knowledgable, or more mature and wise about things, not because you watch a certain TV show. i'm so sorry you've met such patronising people! do they know it's just an adult cartoon hahaha
Pretty much, I usually don't mind those fanbases but after trying to see Mac demarco and being packed in a room surrounded by fans wearing viceroy hats and carhartt overalls, it made it all a bit overwhelming.
This actually happened to me at a Death Grips concert last tour. It was disappointing because I was going alone and was hoping to meet some new friends, but I felt very out of place. I regret not listening to more Ministry, because their fans seemed more chill. If I ever see them again, I hope it's at a venue with better sound (because the speakers weren't really letting Andy's work be heard at all), and I can sit in a balcony. That would be more my style.
I mean it wasn't solely just the clothing but how they were acting as well. I'm not great at explaining but Sad Giraffes comment pretty much describes it.
I’m not above the critique of muse and honestly at one point didn’t find them that enjoyable. But then I saw them live and it changed my opinion of them forever. They are one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
A real fan of a band acknowledges the bands faults and can Recognize valid criticism. No band is perfect no group is perfect no style of music is above criticism
@@edgytypebeat781 yeah I love Eminem's shit to death but my fucking god he has made some awful fucking shit but thank God that's a minority of the stuff
@@malum1424 nah his last couple albums i wont listen to because the songs i have heard SUCK BALLS. But yeah, i get it, being a kanye fan has been tough for the last couple years, jesus is king wasnt great
I mean, the man does have GKMC, TPAB and DAMN under his belt. Thats a fuckin insane discography to have. 12 Grammies, 6 billboard awards, a fucking Pulitzer prize. I would say kendrick "stanery" is a ton more justified then Beyonces.
@@jaym.3896 Oh damn spotted a Kendrick fan. TPAB is overrated and DAMN was a commercial success to finally become mainstream. Plus those accolades are nothing compared to Beyonce's. Kendrick will never be as popular and big as Beyonce, I don't even like her music but it's a fact people listen to pop way more than "jazz".
@@stray3rdborn36 tpab isnt overrated and I do think Kendrick will reach that level of popularity within the next 2 albums assuming they are on the same level as his discography suggests they will be
muse gets way too much shit. Yes, their current work leaves a lot to be desired, but you have to acknowledge that songs like starlight, stockholm syndrome and futurism are great alt rock songs, not to mention the entirety of OOS and BHR.
Adam TheRed simulation theory has some great tracks though, blockades, dark side, and break it to me are all really good in my opinion, especially break it to me
@@adamthered3566 Drones is pretty terrible. They weren't even trying with that one or Simulation Theory. Their early work is some of the best pop rock ever imo
These are my fav vids of yours. More of a 'Let's discuss' vibe then a 'Let's argue' vibe. But nvm. Keep doing your thing RU-vid's favourite music geek.
Bts also has an annoying fan base. They just bring up bts everywhere and go crazy if they see another “Army.” I was on a Doja Cat video the other day, and some bts fan replied to a comment just by saying the bts members’ names, like it was so of topic. The other day, in another video, people were talking about how they wanted to grind on the bts members.

@@wescurti9996 You're are correct, in the past 2 months I went and bought Showbiz and OoS and absolutely loved them both! I can't tell which one i liked more though...
I love Muse, even some of their newer albums, and it always bothered me a little that he hates them, but whatever. Although curiously, I did not like their newest album, imo their worst album so far, but for some reason he liked it! I don’t get it...
@@TheRandomhobo123 Muse pretty much occupied the space right between being edgy just to be edgy, and being creative and aggressive and loud and not limiting the potential of their sound. I fuckin love OoS, Absolution, most of BHaR and The Resistance. I think he just doesn't like their aesthetic and sees them as being more edgy rather than being uncouth. I don't love Muse like I used to so he's not completely wrong about the objective critisizms of their music
@@RqGhosts There's no such thing as an objective critisism of music. Everything about music and artists is entirely subjective. (Obviously except for saying an artist is a bad person if they did something bad)
Professional Meme Enthusiast 1 Radiohead fans are extremists, but most of the time they’re just joking. They also really like to hate Coldplay and Muse.
All acts have their bad fans but some bands garner a special breed of crappy fan. Tool stands out to me as a band with a fan base that has a particularly unique 'odor' when it goes bad. The alt rock/grunge edgy dark kid is a cliche but most of them are harmless. Something about Tool (probably the prog elements) throws an obnoxious pseudo-intellectual elitist vibe into the mix that just makes you want to tear our their numerous facial piercings.
I love Tool's music (pre hiatus) but I don't like to tell people that because I don't want to end up having a conversation with a Tool fan. They are one of the least chill music fanbases I can think of.
@@hughhoney5203 because the whole concept of prog is weird time signatures and technical ability which breeds pretentious “you don’t get it” fans. I.e. Tool, Dream Theater..
Can confirm. As an X fan, every single video has some sort of “fake fans wont find us here” and even where people aren’t talking about X they’ll drag him into it just to talk about him. You just can’t get away from them and they won’t stop with how long they’ve known his music and how good he is
The annoying fan base thing works for anything really. Comics, movies, TV shows and etc. etc. The prime example is Rick and Morty. Rick and Morty is a really good show BUT sometime last year a portion of the fan base turned into a cringe zone beyond belief so people used the fan base as a reason as to why the show "sucked" or why they just can't get into it which is bullshit.
So, clearly, that reference to the Rick and Morty fanbase is no longer a fan favorite. I guess I'll have to accept that it's a meme so dead that everyone but me has forgotten about it.
This is true. I remember reading a tool fan page that claimed Maynard had secret knowledge of the Mayan apocalypse and was trying to warn people in his songs with secret messages. The page had a surprisingly active forum. Very pretentious and annoying fanbase.
Death Grips fans aren't annoying because they over praise the artist. It's the memeing that distracts from having good conversations about their music. Also, makes liking their music seem less genuine to outsiders looking in.
I might be crazy but I've never understood this. Why would you joke about something you care about? Don't you take DG seriously? Do you like their music or not? I would get it if they were making jokes that were clever, but they are literally just quoting lyrics as if they're jokes. (IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES, NOIDED) Like how do you reconcile those two things? lol
Jacob's Nerdy Corner I Like their older stuff don't get me wrong but they reached lyrical pretentiousness that was almost cringe worthy and the music got kinda dull, origin of symmetry isn't perfection but its a good album in my opinion
@Copypastarino Kripperino Well yes. Their music was ment to be taken seriously before 2005. After all most of the stuff was pretty dark. Not just goofing around like every new Muse fan claims Muse´s music is about. And to say that their music isn´t serious on their first three albums, is an insult.
If a fanbase changes your opinion of an artist or music that's just stupid imo. And if a fanbase is the only thing keeping you from being into an artist all you have to do is just not associate with them. It's not hard
Well it’s kind of hard to do for certain artists for example I like mcr, fall out boy and p!atd and I get jugged instantly by people that aren’t into those artists because of the fanbases same thing for me happens to metal (especially the metalcore and deathcore shit I like).
Alright I'll give you that Muse's last few albums aren't great but when did all this general Muse hate come about? OOS, Absolution and BHAR were great albums that were liked at the time. It's like saying Pink Floyd is a bad band because they sucked in the 80's.
Rydera81 Non-fans tend to dislike them for apparent lyrical pretentiousness (they can get political on later records), their self-serious take on progressive, alternative and stadium stereotypes, their over-the-top presentation, and Matt's over-singing, especially in his high falsetto range. However, I'm gonna side with Muse on this one. I think Muse are a creative and interesting band. I like their colorful alternative style, their imaginative musicianship, their technically well-constructed and effective melodies, and Matt Bellamy's passionate tenor vocals. Their albums from 2001 - 2009 are excellent and kick major ass, especially Black Holes and Revelations. Plus they're a great live band.
And when new Muse fans are arguing that Muse is about being over the top, making tastless music, because that is mostly what they have been doing these last years (with exceptions) Is like new Pink Floyed fans would say Pink Floyed is about what they made in the 80´s. Stop comparing them to their glory days when they were actually making great music.. I know it isn´t really relevant to what you said. I just wanted to put it out there. Because that is the view I feel like the new Muse fans have on the band.
A shakie space the music is so solid but women in their 20’s still wetting their pants when their bias shows a nipple so they all come across as repressed children but they turn into psychopaths the moment you say you don’t like their group lmfaaaao
Agreed on basically everything apart from the last bit on metalcore - there’s a bunch of underground metalcore today that isn’t yknow, naive and angsty but aesthetically great. Renounced from here in London spring to mind!
Atrocity exhibition is a record best heard on ear buds digitally. You get effects of his voices going into one ear and then coming around behind you to the other ear, as if he's performing through a floating hologram, right where you are. You get this effect on when it rain and it adds to the creepiness of the track and it sounds really cool.
I agree with the comment about early Muse being good. I absolutely adore their discography through Black Holes. However, they lost me with The Resistance and the one after.
I'll back that, Matt's got great technique. Just listen to him play the intro of Voodoo Child to introduce Supermassive Black Hole. The dude's got feel in his playing, it just catches you off guard because all he plays is neoclassical melodies, which have ZERO feel.
TooGreat4Words Nah, a fair amount of ems fans that I’ve seen have a fair knowledge of hip hop, and don’t even rank eminem as the best. Plus he’s mainstream, and fans of mainstream artists are generally cancerous and only listen to that particular artist.
I think music is also a journey of what you have heard, where you are and what you are about right now. Mr. Fantano is on a journey of a really wide long road with tons of genres of music and a whole lot of albums journeyed through. He has a very different prespective because of this. No one has to accept his opinions but you've got to respect that he's devoted a tremendous amount of time to listening, understanding and getting know artists and genres. IMHO these rabid die hard fans are on a narrow track of music that are either looking for more of the same or have stopped their journey and decided that they have found the best shit without really looking outside of what they like.
RezzyDevil101 he's gonna be 80 and collapse on the street from a heartattack and the only witness will just lean down as he's dying and say "you gave damn a 7 so god gave you a 0"
You should do a Madness Bracket for an alternative or rock artist like Radiohead or Modest Mouse or something. Try to switch it up from all the hip hop/rap
10:40 I believe he meant the fact that digital audio is way more clear in the sense that it doesn't add any color unlike vinyl which always has it's "faults". I do think vinyl often sounds great though, but I gotta admit that digital audio is truly superior quality wise.
So many, and I mean SOOOOOOOO many girls in my school are either fan girls of Ariana Grande or of BTS (both of which I do not like as artists), and they became so annoying I, an extrovert, started talking to the quiet girls instead. I could actually kind of listen to Ariana Grande in the mid 2010’s, until they ruined it for me and now I hate Ariana Grande with my damn core.
AblazeSky yeah and reddit is getting even lamer by the day just this week they banned subs that discuss certain drugs and even banned subs for things that are legal like some of the homecrafted beer subs and kratom vendor subs (if anyone here even knows what kratom is) and shit like that . some people might not give a shit but I'm kinda druggie so this shit matters to me lol.. plus they start banning one thing who knows what they'll ban next.
About the comment on the emo revival. I pretty much agree. Some bands i think are very original and distinct are Great Grandpa, Citizen, Sorority Noise, teensuicide, and The Frights
To me, an annoying fan base is one that allows traditional trash to chart. Acts that sound like they are drunk and mentally ill at the same time are now charting. That charting makes me suffer when I go to the mall or is put on hold.
Honestly curious how much anime Melon head has seen never expected a lucky star reference kudos to him, time for the needle drop to expand into anime reviews!
Ronaldo’s fanbase has to be one of the most obnoxious, annoying and cancerous ones out there. I can’t go to any comment section without them taking it over
Way back a long while ago in a faraway universe known as the 90’s when Seattle grunge and gangsta rap was IN there was an interesting little subculture know as the Deadhead! Rabid devotees of San Francisco based flower power hippie dippy psychedelic rock band The Grateful Dead! Dressed in ragged jeans, tie dyed t-shirts or dashikis, Birkenstocks, love beads, toe rings(and bells), hemp fanny packs and reeking of patchouli these creatures of habit would pile into their little cars or used VW micro vans and follow them across the country from show to show explaining to most layfolk how their music has no better. To be fair the band did have chops especially back in the day when the recently converted(including yours truly) were not even born yet or at the very least still in diapers. Lead guitarist and vocalist Jerry Garcia was actually good and has his memorable moments depending upon how high and what drugs he was on but his vocals not so much. They made some classic records in the late 60’s and early 70’s, American Beauty being their most popular from ‘70And everyone of them would utter the same thing, “You just have to see them live, brother!” And the tapes, oh the tapes! Every diehard had his/her box of cassettes with shows ranging from the 60’s all the way through the current day! And don’t ever even think of saying anything negative about them or suffer their wrath!
