@@JH-kv8mt nasi lemak is a malay dish. Chinese immigrants only came here when british needed workers at the port or tin mines. Since singapore has malays (the original population of the peninsula), it is difficult to conclude whether it is from singapore or malaysia. But for sure a malay dish. Malays in singapore are likely from johor sultanate or beyond long ago.
I can accept that Malaysian local food is better than Singapore but I will vehemently say that Singapore’s chicken rice is better. But in terms of international variety, I think Singapore win hands down.
Disagree. Nasi lemak where the sambal tastes the same in every part of singapore as if the sambal is cooked centrally for distribution. In Malaysia nasi lemak in every eatery has its own taste.
Singapore has a way more established fine dining scene as there is a lot more disposable income in Singapore but in terms of street food I think Malaysia is just as good if not better, you also have to consider the diversity in different regions around Malaysia, the flavours in JB will be a little different than KL which is a little different to Penang, etc
Yeah yeah bah kut teh from sg, kaya toast bread from sg, nasi lemak from sg, tossai from sg, eggs from sg, durian from sg, chicken (fresh) from sg, bah kua from sg, paratha from sg, etc etc and list cannot end hor
0:43 Singaporean food got alot of taste, got laksa, tomyam 🤣🤣🤣 uncle ah in malaysia almost every state got their own laksa. In every region in Malaysia got different taste and we still have alot of food in Malaysia that you couldn't find in Singapore but what you can find in Singapore, you can easily fond in Malaysia. Come out from your tempurung uncle oiiii. Also here is funny 1:26 . The question is "which is better? Malaysian food or Singaporean food?". He at first understand the question which he said Malaysian nasi lemak are better than Singaporean nasi lemak. Then he went out of topic when he say "chicken rice belongs to Singapore". From answering which food taste better and he went to claim chicken rice belongs to Singapore 😂😂😂
There's food I like both in Malaysia and Singapore. Malaysian food damn nice but ah the fat and oil content sibeh high. I'll say to be honest lots of food u find in SG can find in Malaysia. SG chicken rice nice actually. You come back Malaysia from studies or work from another country, honestly you'll just gain weight from the food lol hahaha. Singapore food in comparison feels healthier. When I ate the hawker foods and all, I feel like it's cleaner? like not that oily and all. But as a Sarawakian, I love my Sarawak Laksa haha. Got tons of variety of laksa in Malaysia need come try ;) Cannot just eat in JB only. Got popular foods in different states in malaysia like Nasi Kerabu in kelantan, nasi dagang in Terengganu, penang char kuey teow, sabah's tuaran mee, perak's hor fun, pahang's tempoyak and melaka's chicken rice ball also perlis ikan bakar. Ofc nasi lemak on top.
singaporeans only like fish beehoon/rice, mala xiang guo, bar chor mee and ban mian. All these stalls in singapore selling penang laksa or any type of malaysian food almost always no queue in sg. Im speaking on behalf of the ladies here.
Many foods exist way before Singapore and Malaysia were formed. Let don't forget both Singapore and Malaysia used to be one country. There is no point arguing. On another note Chicken rice came from Hainan. China.
@@SuduontheStreetMalaysia got more choices because of its geographical size. And all tastes uniquely. Sg nasi lemak tastes the same everywhere as if the sambal is cooked centrally. Why the hawker put apalam in nasi lemak when it is not a Malay ingredient. Sg chicken rice is good. Western food is good too.
@@Sangsinga682 why talk about nasi lemak when 90% of Singaporeans dont eat nasi lemak. They always folk to bar chor mee, ban mian stalls, chicken rice and fish soup stalls. Im talking in general la in a food court.
