Want this window for free? You can get it in the Vidyuu Essentials Bundle+, simply comment your Oculus username to be added to the world, or visit the world in Horizon and take a selfie (posting it to the world page). Thank you so much for watching! And we'll see you in Horizon! 🥳😁💜
Thank you so much for the feedback, we will definitely take this into consideration as we continue making videos :-) for now check out this series, there are a few great tutorials on the snap tools here: www.oculus.com/horizon-worlds/learn/intro-to-hand-tools/
Holy sh$t!!! Are you ever just hanging around in Horizon? I’m super new to this! Thank god for Tanzer Laex and Ukeleleman. They’ve helped soooo much. I think I’m having a scaling problem
Check this out for a few more tricks: www.oculus.com/horizon-worlds/learn/tutorial/text-formatting/ And we got a whole slew more in the Essentials Bundle+ if you haven’t been added yet I just need your Oculus Username 😁
@C-Seng Content you can actually create textures or geometry with just text objects. I've seen Victor Ridell's apartment (complete the world "Wake The Robot" to see it) and he made a picture of a stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars using nothing but text icons! 😁
Very well made video! Not only was it very informative about making glass & windows, but also helped me understand better how the array tool works - when used properly in conjunction with snap points. I've been struggling for a while with resource usage when creating the world I'm trying to make, because there are many of the same complicated object. If I use the array tool properly, instead of duplicate, will I be able to better manage this? Also I'm thinking that maybe I just might want to build a quaint little apartment instead. 😁 I had an idea from a long time ago.
The orange door is used for snap points so that the walls will align, it is then deleted. You could replace it later with an animated door like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QmGgwOpezqU.html
So I was making a door to scale and used 0.91 m wide by 2.03 m tall (which is supposedly average size), but it seemed Really small. I even used 1.1m by 2.1m, but that seemed small too.
That’s very interesting, I’m wondering if it’s because all of our avatars are at the same height… And I don’t know what height that is. I also tried building a room to scale and had a similar feeling. And I’m just thinking perhaps our avatars are taller than what we are in the real world and therefore it feels different because it’s not based on our actual real world height. I would say just go and make it feel right… I think it’s cool to use real world numbers but I would lean into the feeling. it is also important to make sure you don’t go too large which is really easy to do in VR. 😁
great workaround for the current lack of alpha textures :) i have a quick question, is there any way of changing the view distance of the players? using the environment gizmo to add fog doesn’t change how players are able to see each other so i was wondering if you knew of any other method, thanks!
Great tuttorial, Is there a way to show a fb live or a youtube video in a world after you built it? I built a world and i recorded it and want to show it in the world for people to see at will. Thanks in advance.
This works really well: Instant & Delay Return Script Tutorial! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_wZKzqNo1yg.html Paired with a trigger that sends a return event to the ball, will give you a return button :-)
Super duper useful! We spent months learning them, there is a great guide in the Vidyuu Essentials Bundle (I can add you to the world, I just need your Oculus username). A few of them are listed here, but we have nearly all of them shown in the bundle :D You can also visit this world in Horizon by searching for Vidyuu Essentials 😁 www.oculus.com/horizon-worlds/learn/tutorial/text-formatting/
Unfortunately not, but it’s a great feature request, I would love to use it too! You can make feature request in the official group here: facebook.com/groups/horizonworlds/
Is there a way you can record your avatar talking to Camera? Like you know on your home screen you can see yourself in mirror and record too. It would be awesome to have your avatar record as well from third person view instead of first.
@@Vidyuu That I know. I've been recording all games and over all experience. What I meant is, if there's a way to record myself as others see me in Horizon. Like not in my own POV but 3rd person POV
Hi 👋 I'm a creator myself trying to build a world of my own. I was wondering if you'd be able to help me with the tools I would need in the videos you show on your RU-vid so I can build my own world. I look forward to hearing from you and horizon has been such a wonderful experience for me since I joined 😊 I got the oculus for Christmas 🎄 and horizon has been my go to since. I'm determined to build something great. I'll be glad to give you my oculus name and we can vr chat.
Keep up the great work! Here are some great additional resources: Official Tutorials: www.oculus.com/horizon-worlds/learn/ Official Facebook group (great for meeting other creators): facebook.com/groups/horizonworlds/ Gotta run, but keep working hard and I hope to catch you in Horizon sometime, I’m @Laex05, and if you reply your username I can add you to the essentials bundle 😁
Great video as usual! Question on scripting - I was looking at some of the pre-made scripts in the PvP template, and it seemed like they referenced other scripts as variables. That is, they'd add "script name" as an object variable and then send an event to that script as if it were an object. This seemed wrong to me, and yet it's what appeared to be happening. Any clue what's up with that?
Horizon is somewhat like object oriented scripting because every script has to be attached to an object. Therefore if you send an event to an object and it has a script attached (or another scripted object listens to that object), the event is received. This video might help :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3GlOHxS1W1Y.html
Not really, but you can vote for this feature on the official forums here :-) horizonworlds.uservoice.com/forums/940711-feature-requests/suggestions/44849374-mirror-gizmo
Can you do a tutorial on how to make a light turn on and off at random intervals? I have a string of Christmas lights that I made and I want each light turn from a lighter shade of color to a darker shade of color to simulate the lights flashing and then maybe the light source could turn on and off as well? Having trouble understanding scripting this.
HELP: using the essentials pack, I tried to use the “Group Start” door. It worked for about 3 tries but now I can’t exit the door? In my script it says something like this- “Expected item from list (0~-1) Got -1” This warning shows up when I enter the Exit trigger :(
You may need to stop reset play the world, or try publishing the world as unlisted and test there… Pretty confident there are no bugs, but if you’ve made changes it’s hard to say. For advanced Scripters: the script removes players when they press the exit button, or leave the world. And entering build mode counts as leaving the world. Which is probably what is causing the bug and why resetting the world fixes it.
Can you create another video of everything you did in this video... but for the love of God, SLOW DOWN and explain each hand stroke & click! My head is spinning 😐
Thanks for offering, we do commissions for a few large organizations, but failing that we may be able to set you up with another talented creator-email me your vision and budget and I’ll do my best to help 😁 Alex.C@Vidyuu.com Please note that unless we are talking a really small item/task in a world, most of the dev/pro type talent starts around $1000 and can easily cost 5-20k for a full world build…this usually is a team build that ranges from 1-8weeks depending on scope. Hope that helps set some expectations upfront and thank you for reaching out! 😁 Also if this seems crazy expensive,100% recommend meeting people in VR and posting in the official group to find collaborators. There are tons of people who want to help and collab. facebook.com/groups/horizonworlds/
@@Vidyuu yes I was a world editor to one of the worlds you created. I asked about how to do the water, rivers, and streams...now I can't edit anything at all but I was wondering about the sliding door..it doesn't work for me...does the script change in any way after editing?
Thanks for the feedback, I actually just asked a guy on our team to start working on this, hopefully you’ll see it coming out in the next month or so :-)
Here’s an introductory series :) this is like a 103 sort of course where you do need some foundational knowledge but it covers special topics :) Let's Start Building ru-vid.com/group/PL-A-AKbB7UL7SNy5MDYPiU9241HxDr3_k
Consider checking out this playlist, building 101 (3rd in the list) is a great starting point :) Let's Start Building ru-vid.com/group/PL-A-AKbB7UL7SNy5MDYPiU9241HxDr3_k
