I recently started exploring modular synths and came across this channel! I have to say, I really love the content you put out there. It's really entertaining and fun to watch you, very educational. :) Keep on patching pls
Yes yes yes! stoermelder STRIP is THE utility I've been hoping to unearth ever since I started using VCV Rack 12 days ago. As a former(:)) Reason user for the past twelve days, I've been looking for an equivalent of the combinator. Tremendous! Learning VCV Rack with your help is tantamount to an upgrade for a sound enthusiast's brain. It is my belief that you have a very bright future and will play a part in the bright futures of others. You're having WAY too much fun with this stuff! :D There towards the end, around 12 or 13 min, you started drifting into Pink Floyd's "On The Run." Cool.
Great video, Omri! Your channel is priceless. One question, maybe for you, maybe for whoever is reading: is there any way to use rtpMIDI (windows implementation of Network MIDI) as MIDI inputs in VCV? I have a really great iPad multitrack sequencer (Xequence, look it up) and I'd love to use it in VCV. Once again, great content, as usual!
Hey, thank you! Well, I'm not so sure actually, I never tried anything like this. I'm pretty sure though that there are special connectors for iPad that will let you send Midi via USB.
That's so weird... The one in the description is ok, but not the one in the comments, which is actually the same because I just copied it... Anyway, it's fixed now :) Thanks!
Kudos for sharing, but as an owner of 303 I must say that it sounds much much different thant your setup in VCV(much better tbh). I've tried to match sound using ladder filters and saturation modules but no luck. While I was able to reproduce exact sound for single position of reso and cutoff knobs, i could not get it setup as a whole. Therefore I'd like to challenge you to get TB303 clone in VCV using payed or free modules, doesn't matter. Will you accept this challenge?
Well, these videos of building synths is more about learning and experimenting with how the synths work rather than replicating the sound. I don't think I can get the exact sound of a 303...
Cheers Omri, I've tried this exercise a few times too, the character is always a little different but nice all the same. You can also get a pretty good hardware recreation now from behringer, super cheap ... PS did you forget to add a distortion?
Yeah, it can go in many different ways. About the distortion, the original 303 didn't have distortion on it so I didn't add one, but it's very easy to to do I guess.
