You missed the golden age of ADTR. Maybe we could get a slow burn episode on their stuff at some point in 2024?

ADTR basically went from metalcore/post-hardcore to more pop-punk when this was released, although I don't know what direction they've gone in since. But their choruses have almost always been catchy, and bordering on pop-punk, especially after their third or fourth album. There are definitely some decently heavy tracks in their discography though and definitely not all of it is in a major key/happier sounding like this song. There's even group of bands that sort of fall into this category that are referred to as "easy-core", which is effectively pop-punk that borders on hardcore or post-hardcore. They have breakdowns but still tend to lean more pop-punk. Four Year Strong, The Wonder Years, and Chunk No Captain Chunk are examples of this as well as some of ADTR's tracks.

ADTR is so good. Seen them live 3-4 times and they never let down.

This is a very stereotypical ADTR song. What's great about them though is that they can be pop punk one song, and metalcore the next.

Are these the guys with the "DISRESPECT YOUR SURROUNDINGS?" Breakdown? Cuz, someone was introducing me to ADTR, way back when, and I usually listen to the heavier shit, ADTR aint bad, but I laughed my ass off hearing that breakdown thinking it was a parody. And dude thought it was the heaviest shit ever. A little discussing and introducing some old school Sepultura, Morbid angel and y'know, your classic death metal/thrash metal bands and it turns out he was super into NOFX, as I am as well. And yknow, not everyone likes the cookie monster metal, I love the diggita doogitah widdly widdly weee screamity scream of it all. Always have. ADTR is like if Rise Against, My chemical romance and Breaking Benjamin coalesced into a sort of punky-hard-rock thing. They have some really good sounding recordings, like the sound engineering is really good. BUUUUIT.... I dunno, i like the "rah rah ree roo RAHHHHHH!" stuff more? I admit i know very few heavy or thrash metal bands lyrics, its the dang ol arrangements and wicked brutal double bass drumming, aligned with the most crispity of riffs, making you wanna gather a group of people and mosh, but be bros, but get wild in the pit, cuz i dunno, some latent dormant biological tribal thing? Who knows, good tunes is good tunes, but I like respecting my surroundings, thanks. (Also, not sure if it is ADTR with that breakdown, might have been Whitechapel? Either way...respect your surroundings. Disrespect others surroundings, cuz then you dont have to clean up your own broken stuff...😂😂😂)😊
