I use them freehand on cotton bags and clothing. It works really well. I mostly do seascapes as I don't prime the fabric in any way so the effect isn't crisp but I like that effect. I put a cutting mat inside the bag or t-shirt as it does bleed but the effects are great. I work on damp fabric using a spray bottle of water and fix with a hot iron.
This is too perfect. I’ve been looking for a tutorial on how to use Inktense coloured pencils that only uses a couple of colours that I can purchase from open stock rather than commit to a set. I don’t have Marie Trolle’s Botanicum but I do have Nightfall. I had already marked the page to follow your tutorial on highlights, shading and shadows from your beginners playlist. Fortunately it has a frog that I can use to follow your Inktense tutorial. There is also the small frog wearing a crown on the title page of Hannah Karlson’s Magical Dawn to colour with the Inktense as well. Your tutorials have been a godsend to me being new to this hobby. Thank you.
Thank you! I loved how my cute little frog turned out. If you followed the tutorial for the frog, please share in my Facebook group. I'd love to see it. If you didn't do this one, I'd love to see anything you colored with them. Happy Coloring!
Does the alcohol marker make the intense bleed through to the other side of the page. Please show the other side more often so we know what problems we might encounter. Thank You
I'm so glad I found your channel😊 I really like your tutorials you talk through them so well. M so excited I just ordered 2 different sets of the Derwit intense! Getting them tomorrow. ❤😊
I’ve had Inktense or many years in my earlier card making days. Going to have to try them in my books. Great tutorial. How was the backside of the page? Did it bleed through any😂?
Sorry I didn’t show the back of the page. I did check for you today because I am going to start finishing the rest of the page. There is no bleed through to the other side. When I’m doing a tutorial type video and trying to make sure I get everything packed into one video that I want to, sometimes it’s easy to forget things. I’ll try to remember to show the back of the page next time.
There is no bleed through on the back of the page. I was just using the back of the book and matching the images up to Google images and oh my…the colors of the dragon fly and flower are beautiful! I was going to start coloring but haven’t yet. I’ll see what I can do. I love my little frog prince!
I’m new to using inktense and I only have a set of 6 colours. So far I’ve only experimented with colour mixing to get the most from my limited colours. I’m learning a lot from watching your inktense videos, thank you! Your frog is very cute and the colours look perfect. Just one little thing I noticed (I debated with myself whether I should mention it or not) but just above the frog, on the right side of the flower stem, there are 2 little bumps…. I believe those are the frogs toes from his higher back leg.
You would need to ensure all the Inktense has been activated. I use a damp soft flat watercolour brush and gently go light to dark over the entire coloured surface, cleaning brush regularly. This also helps consolidate the picture too. I believe Inktense are an acrylic ink so an acrylic fixative should be OK but always test first.
