I recently bought the Nomad paradise palette when they announced that it was going away. I didn't realize how similar the vibe is. Since I have that palette, I'd most likely skip the Mystique palette. I also own Colourpop's Keep it Jewel and Fade Into Hue which I think covers this color story in both palettes combined. I love your comparison videos. They always help me out especially because I'm also not buying the latest releases unless I feel like it fills a gap in my collection.

Seeing comparisons to other palettes is always fun! Sometimes, duping the vibes is all you need and you can save your money. I like the layout of the Alter Ego palette better than the ND, and it’s nice that it has magnetic pans to change things around.

Interesting! I never would have pulled that Nomad palette, but the vibe is similar. I love the New Mood palette-I don’t know why it got so much hate.😊

I think that the ND palette is only 70 dollars because it’s a midi palette-but discontinued

I have the ND, got this and the zendo for about $95 a few years ago. Tough to use, but today I am wearing the three green/teal shades and really like the monochrome feel. I look at the palette as a series of quads, Temptalia did a thing for her blog about using quads and trios and other combos in palettes. And sky is nothing like ND's version. I think dupes brands are Chinese container ship private label garbage. A side by side comparison would have shown that, which you should have done, frankly. 20 on something that fades and is basically old formulas out of factories, or ND Italian made. I waited and bought the sale bundle, I think the shadows outperform a load of indies. jmho, ymmv, but truthfully, a side by side swatch would show that the fake is basically a kibitzer in the realm of eyeshadows

If Circo Loco was laid out like the Mystique palette then I may have bought it. I find Circo Loco’s layout to be unattractive and overwhelming. I would consider Mystique but I can dupe the vibes even if I have to combine palettes. It kind of give me born to run UD vibes.

Circo loco was on my wishlist but I don’t know. The color story doesn’t do it for me anymore. Too many releases since? Who knows.

the colors of the dupe brand seem "faded" compared to the depth of pigment from my circo loco, even now years later it is still so creamy and punchy - alter ego seems like a drugstore version of eyeshadow quality

I stated the pigmentation would be different but I also always state I swatch with a very light hand to see if the pigmentation is there. I never go in heavy handed because that’s deceiving. Please keep that in mind. I try to be as transparent as possible 🙂

Good balanced and fair first impressions! You are always honest and professional. Have you ever thought about buying a large parrot like a Macaw for your family since your child loves birds? There may be even some bird rescue centers in your area that you could adopt from, just a thought. 🦜 I have 2 parakeets and they are sweet. I agree that the palette would be good for a teenager! It’s colorful but not bright neons so they may be easier to use and more comfortable wearing them.

@@AlejandraLisette That’s true, I forgot they live 40 to 60 years! 😵‍💫 🦜 Your child or you may not be able to have a parrot around that long term especially if your child has their own children when they grow up. It’s not ideal to have a noisy bird around newborns.
