I love both brands, I bought Kinbor in 2023 and now I will buy again for 2024. 🥰

I love both brands. I orderered only the Kinbor for the last two years and really liked it. Unfortunately for 2024 they do not have the avec version and I need an A5 avec for journaling. So I changed back to Hobonichi. The advantage of Kinbor is the price because it is so much cheaper than Hobonichi. As I like the Dragon design, I ordered the Kinbor A5 for planning. And also the A6 for a special project. Then I caved in and ordered the A6 HON because I love the cats design. The paper is pretty similar, with some very juicy fountain pen inks there might be problems but I rarely have any issues with ink. 2024 will be my first year to use both brands side by side and I will be able to compare the more problematic inks.

Very thorough comparison! Thank you for the vid ❤ From what I heard, the grid on the Kinbor is a little smaller because it's based off of the japanese version of the Hobonichi, which is 3.7 mm if I recall correctly.

Oh my Goodness! Thank you for that amazingly detailed comparison! You are the first person who explained what is the purpose of that 21 day plan. Every other review of Kinbor suggested meal plans :) I will be picking up Kinbor from Aliexpress because the shipping of Hobonichi to my country is outrageously high (higher than the planner itself) :)

@@VlogAllAboutIt I so very much hope that it will be "that". For the past 12 years I've been using Moleskine (at first the pocket size and later the large ones) and I'm tired of their not-inspiring colors (especially this coming year and no Limited Edition covers). That's why I went on a hunt - what's good to replace my Moleskine daily. I'm writing daily and putting pictures, stickers and now I see that one can also see other beautiful stuff with Hobo or Kinbor. That walk-through of yours was what I needed - step by step and easy to see every single detail. So once again - thank you from the bottom of my heart💜

Great comparison between the two! I have the A5 Kinbor and the Hobinichi Weeks and I love them both for different reasons but I hate all the wasted space at the bottom of the Hobo with the quotes they have there. I always cover them up with washi tape so next year I shall be buying the Kinbor version of the weeks too to maximise my writing space.

There actualy is an A5 version, but I think it doesnt has the same weekly pages as the Hobonichi Cousin has. Rest is very similar though

I believe the grid size in the Kinbor is 4.7mm and the Arts & Crafts English Techo is 5mm grid. Also the Kinbor will resemble the original more than the arts & crafts. Even in the back pages.

arts&sciences english planner is a 4mm grid (original and cousin are 3.7mm)

I was curious to see what the kindor looked like so thank you for this comparison! but I do want to ask, since i didnt notice you mentioned it, are you aware the japanese a6 hobonichi "original" techo is different from the english a6 hobonichi planner? this is only because you note that the hobo doesn't have some page features of the kindor but the jpn ver does- it has a longer time line than just noon and dinner and also its not blank in the corner, it also has 3(?) bullet point to-do lines in the corner. The jpn ver also has each month tab be a different colour vs the eng planner having it all be black except red sundays. It's interesting to note how much the kindor takes after the hobonichi (japanese) original.. Sorry if i just missed this in the video, I fully understand making a comparison between the hobonichi planner you own but kindor definitely takes after the jpn ver and not the eng ver of hobonichi!

Thanks for pointing these things out. I remember someone saying that the Kinbor is, in fact, modeled after the A6 Hobonichi Techo Original. I haven't used the Trcho Original in so long that I forgot the layout.

@@VlogAllAboutIt very valid! I figured it was just doing a comparison with what you had right there at the moment and it was a very good and thorough one! Just yeah I might be a little obsessed with remembering the differences between all the diff techos right now as I have been having to make the decision for 2024 😅 (final decision: from the eng a6 planner going to the eng cousin 💪)

@le_onionboi Heeyyyy! Awesome choice! I tried the Cousin for 2 years, and the only reason I feel it's not for me (at this moment) is because my life isn't busy enough to complete the larger pages. Yes! I have the panda A6 cover and my Kinbor A6 is in there. Fits just fine with no issues! In the begining of the video, I show taking both planners out of the covers. Hope this helps!
