OMG ! I Love the way you incorporated the picture of the lady with the pink turbin hat - Hysterical in a Fun way - Love It ! Love her - she's Fantastic dressed in her holiday best.
Thank you Scott for bringing back so many childhood memories.. my tree is done in my grandparents ornaments from the 40s & 50s.. & OF course tinsel! I'm know as the tinsel queen in my family! ..Another wonderful video Scott! ❤
Scott, so happy to see all the videos you have been posting! You really bring so much joy, fun & laughter to each video you put together! Thanks for making EVERYONE feel like family! Merry Christmas!🎄🎅🏻
Scott, this video warms my heart...lost both my parents a few years ago, they died a few months apart and I miss them terribly. My Dad was born in 1926 & we always had "old fashioned decorations"Now I do. Thank you for keeping traditional Christmas decorating alive. Merry Christmas!
Wow Scott, your collection of ornaments are amazing. Thanks for the advice about using a dimmer switch for the old C7s. I picked up two of the old candelabras (each with 8 candles) at an estate sale to sell in my Etsy shop but was worried about how hot they get. So, now I know the trick to keeping them safer. Thanks hon!!
Scott, you should be very good at stringing lights on a Christmas tree since you have been running around in circles for years! LOL 😆. Merry Christmas.
When you mentioned the lights that when one burned out they all burned out you brought back a memory for me. I can still see my dad patiently testing them to find the burned out light. Can’t wait to see your tree completed. ❤️🇨🇦
🌟🎄🌟Never have I ever seen a tree topper like your's 💝, it's absolutely gorgeous. So many beautiful Christmas ornaments. All your decorations are fabulous 😻as well as your Christmas 🎄. Thank you for sharing 😇. May our Heavenly Father always bless you and your family 🙏, amen💒.

Well!!! Perfectly Lovely!!! The tree will be perfect too!!! It was nice to see the vintage ornaments up close in their boxes, you could really see the beautiful detail and brilliant coloration of them!!! The calming Christmas music, the icing on the cake perfection!!! Thank u Scott, well done!!! Can't wait to see the finished tree!!! Saw Salem!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
You have the nicest collection of vintage ornaments that I've ever seen. Thank you for showing them to us! I finally have collected enough vintage Shiny Brites to fill a complete tree this year. I'm thrilled! Of course, I'm displaying the beautiful boxes, as well.
Scott, I’ve watched every episode but cannot always be at your live sales and watch them later. You have enhanced my life in many ways this past year; I thank you so much and wish you a very Merry Christmas! The old ornaments are so precious and will never be made again, it’s always a joy to see them. Your home and sense of decorating is awesome! 🌲😘
You have done a fabulous job...one of my sisters lives in a real log house...inside there are a couple cool branches coming out of logs like beams and she hangs different old fashioned lights there and on tree underneath and uses those foil backings.
Thank you for joining us Scott. It’s always fun seeing what you have and I love love all those graphics on those ornament boxes and you have ornaments that I’ve never seen before. I really like those swirly ones.!
Hi Just watching your video while I am doing some decorating right now😊 I will make sure to see the rest Love the shiny brites too! I have a few Thanks for sharing
Scott, thank you so much for a wonderfully nostalgic video. I’m struggling this holiday season as I just lost my husband of 56 years last month. Your video reminded me of happier, more simple times in my life. Merry Christmas! ❤
Nothing like the old C7 and C9 bulbs! Loving your tree. Looking forward to seeing finished tree with tinsel. 2 of my 3 trees are well adorned with icicles. So nostalgic and pretty when they reflect the light.
I am amazed that I have a lot of the same ornaments you have from my 2 grandmothers!! one lived in PA, and the other one lived in West Virginia! Both of German descent, with their German and American ornaments!
Love the music 🎵 and esthetic. While I would think it unlikely, if you ever were to consider selling the blue Santa and bells ornament at 14:43 mark, I would appreciate having a chance to purchase it. It reminds me of an ornament from my very early childhood and I never knew its ultimate fate. Nothing better than old incandescent
I have one box of glass ornaments, very similar to the ones your mug is sitting on when you first begin showing them. They, along a with a 1950’s music box manger, are are my greatest Christmas treasures from childhood, passed along from my grandparents to my mom and on to me. Love seeing all your decorations and the old C7 lights. Total Time Machine back to childhood. Thank you.
My parents had a lot of those ornaments from the 1950s and '60s. Quite a few years ago, they were downsizing and had a rummage sale at their house. I stopped by as their sale ended and they were throwing out some stuff that didn't sell. They were going to throw away all those ornaments! In their original boxes! I rescued them from the trash and basically said, "Here! Take my money!" They just gave them to me and couldn't understand why I was so excited about them. But I do love them. So many memories for me. I always loved Christmas just about more than anything. Most of the ornaments were in great condition. Some had paint loss due to the flocking they used to spray the tree with. Do you remember that?? Terrible stuff!
Love the start of the Christmas tree decorating. Can’t wait to see the next video on you finishing it. Your tree will look absolutely stunning. ❤from Saskatchewan,Canada.
Wow, so beautiful old-fashioned Christmas bulbs. I have some old-fashioned ones too. I love them I have a real tree and the old-fashioned bobs is on mine and Christmas icicles thank you for the video greetings from Newfoundland Canada
The first part of the video reminded me of an ol Donald Duck Christmas cartoon, and that’s a good thing. Love the ornaments. Our family had the Shiny Brites and I have some my mom gave me in the last century. Thanks so much Scott for sharing your nostalgia; I really enjoyed it! Happy New Year!
You were right to say that people used to use 1-2 sets of lights 'in the old days'. Though the cost of light sets had come down considerably since their introduction (in 1904), they were still pricey in the 1920s, and most people certainly didn't overload their trees with lights. Your light sets are mid-century, I believe. 1920s light sets had cloth cords, composition sockets (not bakelite), and used narrower, 'flame' bulbs first patented by Westinghouse in the year 1920. They're still available at auction, many in their colorful, period cardboard boxes! Authentic replacement bulbs are also fairly easy to find (they were still in production in the 1970s). To help brighten your tree in the 1920s, narrow tinsel garlands (NOT icicles) from Germany were a popular decoration.
What a beautiful collection of ornaments, many like I got from my mother. Unfortunately my kitty 🐈⬛ Maxwell won’t cohabit nicely with a big decorated tree so I’m enjoying them from your video. We put up a tabletop tree with unbreakable decorations. Fortunately he doesn’t bother with ceramic and glass knick nacks. So it does still look like Christmas here.
Lovely look dack at Christmas tree decorating from my youth. My oldest daughter has all the family shiney brights and ones she has collected her self they will be on her trees this year as always. I still only buy glass ornaments for my tree. Christmas wouldnt be the same with a plastic ball on the tree.😊❄️😇
Now we're talkin Christmas!..i gotta dig around until i find your Finished tree! Hope you put on the tinsel...that stuff is So Magical......yeah..i have a big set of these old lights...LOVE them...even though the newer tiny lights have a lot of bells & whistles...nothing compares to the old bulbs, imho. I also have some of the newer see thru twinkle screw ins that blink individually & they even have a beautiful pink bulb in that set..& the blue is a deeper blue than the older set. in fact All of the colours are darker...&..i had...a lit tin star...& a ton of the shiny Bright old glass ornaments..just like yours. BUT......but. i had.......past tense Not many left now. Our kitty...decided she wanted to decorate the tree...with herself. It was lovely..until it crashed to the ground. Lost a few..but that was not the end..she climbed back into the tree 2 more times..so..ended up loosing quite a few of the glass balls. i tried tying the tree to a nail in the wall...& that worked..until she decided to climb back in the tree & bat the balls down...what didn't break on impact she chased. Anyways..many years later...she passed away this summer..so..ima do the Old timey tree again...& im putting her pic in one of the new clear glass balls. So..she can be back in her tree.
Always use these type of lights, including the small cone bulbs. I am wondering if you have any Matchless Wonder star lights? I have them on my mantle.
