Great point. There is evidence, if we follow Robert Bauvals Correlation theory of the pyramids, that Kemites were familiar with the earths axial precession. The precession is a 26000-year cycle. So it would have to have been calculated and extrapolated or observed. He postulated that one of the shafts in Khufu's pyramids aligned with a star in Orion's Belt at a particular time in the precession which coincides with the dating of the pyramids. And it was aligned purposely.
