I am loving this saga. First Feed the Machine, then Give and Take, and now Let’s Go! They interplay, build off each other, and have a conversation. The political commentary, the unique sound, it’s stunning. I feel like each song is representative of the year they came out. It’s modern and timeless at the same time. Poor Man’s Poison, you are amazing!
Yeah, in my opinion, these albums which tell a story r the best. Gloryhammer and their Kingdom of Fife, ASP and the Krabat-song cycle, and Samsas Traum and the 'love' of god, telling the Story of Lilith and Samael, fighting against a rebelling arch Angel, by forming a pact with an even greatet evil... dang I love such musicians
“We are the same, for that we should embrace But this is the tool they use to separate” and “Nobody wins if everyone dies” chills man- there are so many hard hitting lyrics in this song, amazing
The “nobody wins if everybody dies” always reminds me of a picture from the horrible history books where there’s one guy stood surrounded by hundreds of dead bodies after a battle and he says “if this is winning, I’d hate to lose”
This to me has many meanings it's about race it's about gender it's about sexuality it's about religion it's even about just different lifestyles in general like for example someone who works on a farm and someone who works in an office just hating each other because they each think there job is more difficult it's stupid how this differences are separated and all of these different groups are usually told by the government themselves that they shouldn't get along we could all gain so much more knowledge if instead of just ignoring a lifestyle we didn't relate to and instead imbraced the differences but as long as there's people in power saying that we should all hate each other most likely we will all keep on hating each other
@@michimatsch5862my interpretation of the message is (and mind you this is my perspective from an American pov) is that the government is out to control its people and the people of the world in order to militarily and economically control the world.. the war machine is America and the military industrial complex and the great big lie could be referring to the American dream or just the general idea that America is a force of good and order in the world..
@@michimatsch5862 most PMP songs relate to the workers plight, this song seems to be directed at how political figures say one thing supporting workers rights but then support the corporations and CEOs
I've recently discovered them, and all I'm going to say about this comment is this; Everyone knows their songs, but nobody knows who they are. Obviously, Hell's Coming With Me is their most famous song. Everyone knows it, whether it's from a Red Dead Redemption 2 edit or some Gatcha kid. And not to mention Feed The Machine being the most famous song used for the 2023 minecraft mob vote revolution. And then I heard providence on some random youtube short, and I finally found out who they were. So to respond to your comment. They're extremely famous, just nobody knows it. Although I do think they're still criminally underrated.
Seems like it’d be right after feed the machine which is them beginning a revolution as a secret(like preparing and stuff), but in give and take the war starts(atleast that’s how I see it)
"This is the end" is also a part of "in the end (intro)" which leads to the songs of "good people" and "Give and Take," songs that have been shown to directly link to "Feed the machine"
Hi guys! I’m aware that this comment will just be lost in the sea of comments and see this, but I wanted to thank you for the music you provide us. I am a 13 year old with a love for music. Please never stop creating master pieces like this. Faith over fear.
We got the villain politician with deceitful teeth Bloody hands so sticky sweet With the long, icy cold finger of death And the whisper sweet as baby's breath Yeah, this is how the story goes The more you pay attention, the more you know Nobody wins if everybody dies So welcome to the show (Welcome to the show) Here it is, surprise! (Let's Go!) That's the sound of the war machine (Let's Go!) Yeah, they're comin' after you and me (Let's Go!) Nobody wins if everybody dies And we've all been caught up in a great big lie Let's Go! They know we're terrified of a tragedy They know what they do compared to what we see I've said it before, and I'll say it again "We're all gonna die" Yeah, "This is the end" (Let's Go!) That's the sound of the war machine (Let's Go!) Yeah, they're comin' after you and me (Yeah, Let's Go!) Nobody wins if everybody dies We've all been caught up in a great big lie Let's Go! We're not the same For that, we should embrace (We all should embrace) But this is the tool they use to separate (Use to separate) Some are afraid, (Ooooh) some full of rage We all feel we've been betrayed And they make us pay (They'll make us pay) There's no give and take (There's no give and take) Let's all give and take (Give and take) We need to give and take (Give and take) One, two, three (Let's Go!) That's the sound of the war machine (Let's Go!) Yeah, they're comin' after you and me (Yeah, Let's Go!) Nobody wins if everybody dies We've all been caught up in the great big lie Let's Go! Nobody wins if everybody dies We've all been caught up in a great big lie Nobody wins if everyone dies We've all been caught up in a great big lie Yeah, Nobody wins (Oooh) ("Prepare to be amazed!") We've all been caught up in a great... big... lie... Nobody wins (Vamos!) if everyone dies We've all been caught up in a great big lie Yeah, Let's Go!
I just discovered these guys about a year and a half ago. They've definitely wedged themselves in with my two number one bands: Flogging Molly and Streetlight Manifesto. Picking a number one is like picking a favorite child. But for nearly 20 years, it's been those two bands. PMP now makes it three. The music is phenomenal, but the lyrics and messages are just so damn powerful. And that's an understatement of epic proportions. These guys should be touring the country and playing large festivals. Especially in the southwestern Ohio area. An area with which I have absolutely no affiliation, and is totally a random spot I just pulled out of my ass...
NO ONE is talking about the whispering undertone at 0:21. It's really hard to hear without headphones or earbuds, but man is it a GREAT small detail. Wonderful song, guys!
I've been binging on these guys all week... didn't know they were about to drop another gem... fan f*cking tastic... always delighted to hear new PMP... music with truth in it
PoorMansPoison is that guy who knows the future but can't directly tell anyone or the world explodes so they have to explain it in a song, but for real though this is so good, you're one of my favorite song artists keep up the good work
I knew this band from Hell's coming with me but never really tried another song. Today, I've got Feed the machine in my recomendations and decided to tried other songs. Let's just say I'm glad I did.
This song is very different than everything before it. It feels....More real I guess? While things like Feed the Machine or Give and Take can be seen as a "fictional" story. This feels more real. With the whole Ukraine fiasco seemingly being a point of "nobody wins if everyone dies" and the like. 9/10. It's really good, just not perfect.
I absolutely love this style of music - found this group through this album yesterday and I’m already singing the chorus of several of their songs on the drive to work lol Instantly one of my favorite artists, this stuff slaps
I've only discovered you guys early 2023, but your music has singlehandedly become one of my favourites. Wish I discovered you guys sooner and I hope you continue making fire songs
super happy to hear this start to a new album. based on the reference to "give and take" and the general feel of this song, it sounds like your building off of "in the end" which im super excited about. looking further into it, i wonder if the cover is based on the powerful (the lions) bending to the whims of the rich (the ring master) in reference to political corruption.
I'm a brazilian guy, and I'm literally addicted with this song E p rpzd do Brasil, se essa porra virar moda eu to de prova q o pai chegou primeiro, tudo nosso
@@BLET_55artem55 i did check alr, but i dont like it too much, but ik these are important and good songs (and sry for the bad english, im trying to learn XD, God bless u friendo S2)
I'm so glad I discovered Poor Man's Poison, in 2020 I spent my days in quarantine playing bloodborne with providence playing the back. I'm so happy Hell's Coming With Me and Feed the Machine are getting the recognition they deserve, but this is my favorite
Poor Man's Poison.....absolutely worth drinking it all down... every last drop. *standing ovation* their poison always leaves you thirsting for more.... *raises glass* gentlemen you have killed it again! *throws it back* ENCORE!
I love this song. I definitely think this fits in the narrative they have in feed the machine. However i feel like it actually takes place in between Feed the Machine and Give and Take. This, to me, feels more like the call to action that leads to the open Rebellion in give or take.
If y'all have seen my comment on the Give and Take video (Not the Music Video, the audio video) this is another great song addition to a potential movie! All of these songs are so theratric and its just missing potential here. Thank you PMP for a great new song, lets hope this album is gonna be an amazing one.
@@BLET_55artem55 I think of it like FTM, LG, GAT Let's go have more of the vibe of the start of a revolution while give and take feels like a revolution in progress
@@YourLocalEldritchHorror "today's the day, revolution's on It's way" really does give a bit of "let's do smth for once" vibe, while "LET'S GO! That's the sound of the war machine" gives more of "let's burn 'em all"
@@BLET_55artem55 I kinda take the beginning of Give and take as in the perspective of the government Kinda like OH SHIT WE FUCKED UP The song even begins with marching like they are beginning the attack "Even saying their out for blood this time around, their gonna burn it all down" insinuating this isn't the first time they have rebelled I believe given the theme of Let's Go I think They had formed a rebellion but the government found out and tracked them down I take the song as the last moments of the rebels Saying "Nobody wins if everyone dies" Possibly meaning they plan to take them down with them The song even has a more melancholy atmosphere
@@YourLocalEldritchHorror I still think that GaT is slightly before the LG, cuz "Somehow they found us out. No sudden moves, don't make a sound, they're out for blood this time around" implies that the rebellion was in the planning, but the gov found them and now they've gotta do it now or never with "Look around, what do you know? This whole damn place is about to blow". Tho maybe it really is just 2nd group of ppl that are for the reforms but don't want to go on full WW1 style
You guys are awesome!!!!! I knew feed the machine and give and take is related in someway. But I never thought it will be a trilogy! Feed the machine trilogy really gives me goosebumps. Love the music and also the message it send. Please keep making more music like this
Great song! I don't like a lot of English songs anymore because I have been more into Eurasian music, but this ones just better than all of the English songs I've heard. Good job!
Nice to hear you gents and any ladys that work with you again. Hooked me in with Hells Comin with me about a year ago now and this point I've all but memorised that song as well as Feed the Machine, Providence, Pressure Cracks and Give and Take off by heart. Long time coming though like I said nice to see yall back
On top of being just good music, I really like how many of their songs interconnect and build off their shared themes, particularly Feed the Machine, Give and Take, and this song here. There’s a certain special something in Poor Man’s Poison.
My favorite part of their music is the interconnectedness of all their songs. This song references give and take and feed the machine and adds to the story. I imagine the war machine they’re talking about throughout the song is the same one referenced in feed the machine.
From what I've collected as far as listening to each song goes, some organization seems to be trying to take hold of the masses as they desperatly try to keep a group of rebels from fighting back, whether that be through action or informing their peers of what's really going on around them. It's a wonderful story of unity and I'd love to see where it goes. How vague everything is and how little information is given leaves so much to the imagination in my opinion, which makes it all the better to piece together the narrative!
1:35 onwards the part is soo good on the ears that i will listen again alone for that. Besides that like all poor man's poison songs it's stellar storytelling, packaged with glorious different accoustics( especially the mandolin in hells coming with me). Coupling that with the acapella binds it all really together. I wish the band so much fun going onwards with making music.
I love this band with all of my heart. Their music hits my heart and their lyrics and tunes resonate with how I feel at various moments in time. I discovered them when I was in a very dark mindset and they may very well have saved my life. To Ryan Hakker and the crew, you guys are amazing, and I hope that this band lives on for the next thousand years, if we're still hanging on.
Вряд-ли вы поймёте что я написал. Но вы дарите миру свою прекрасную музыку, пускай я в другой стране на другом материке но она подходит и под мои реали жизни. Удачи вам и продолжайте делать хорошую музыку!

I came across this band this week (While actually looking for another song unrelated) then this band shows up. Something told me to look it up, and I'm so glad I did. My man, can I just say you are a legend. Those lyrics, instruments and harmony are top notch and they get me pumped up 😅 Thank you for the beautiful music. The world needs to hear this!
