Great to see Des Mounes being represented on YT! Im also from DSM. Ive been taking a break from thrifting, but still get out occasionally. I almost had a stroke when i saw the pitcher with the pastel stripes. I'm pretty sure i have matching sherbert dishes and saucers that match. Im always on the hunt for it. And it was at Colectimania, which is near my house! Lol
Nice video…. Many hands is my favorite place, organized, always new stuff, good prices.. I’ve had good luck, an try to go once a week. Salvation Army, I don’t waste my time because their clothes are sorted by color and not size, which takes forever to go through. St. Vincent’s is fun, but as mentioned, the prices can be way too high. They had a piece of art I was interested in, but had it price at 150.00, but found on-line for 50. Goodwill varies by location, some much better than others…. Fun watch.
@@DavidSmith-vb7gz 1500!!! I just don’t understand the logic 🤣. But it makes it extra sweet when they underprice something I love! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for bringing us along. The one stores prices were so high on the vintage. Our thrift stores in our area are rarely any good. We do better during yard sale season. Love and blessings ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so disappointed in the thrifting shops in Des Moine. I have visited most of them and very disappointed. Thanks for sharing our area for shopping. Wished there were more cool shops to go to.
@@BrookeJohnsonTheJunkParlor I'm shocked and excited to have just found your channel! I agree - lots of thrift but our antique stores are sorely lacking. And I agree @kathypenner3478 - on the rare occasion you might get something, but Marketplace & garage sales are usually better around here.
I’m glad I found your channel, I’m in southeast Iowa and am planning on going to Des Moines at the end of the month. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Great video . I am prejudiced , since I am also in Des Moines. In the beginning of this video , you identified a wood thingy as an easel that needed tightening. It is actually something that deals with yarn , although I don't remember what exactly . Also , at the DAV , Chris is the manager , he's not there on weekends. Just tell him you know the Colonel . I am a customer there , and Chris always goes out of his way for me .
So glad I found your channel. I just started thrifting/selling. I am from Des Moines but currently live in Bondurant. It’s nice to follow a fellow Iowan 😊
What the Des Moines Salvation Army has is …… ridiculously high prices considering the fact it is all donated and tax free profit for the store. The green plastic thing is an avocado keeper
Thank you so much for listing all the stores, I’m in La Porte City, just a skip south of Waterloo. With you list, my sister and I will take a rode trip this summer/fall to these strores.
@@BrookeJohnsonTheJunkParlor Goodwill on E 33rd and Euclid and another one on E 25th or 26th and Euclid by HyVee...my daughter is forever finding high end purses at these stores.
@@SherryXLynn-zl7zz I visit those too! Euclid is just a great strip with Thriftmart, Thrifty Flea, Salvation Army, Goodwill and Habitat!! Then really close is Collectamania too!
