astrob.in/w2ox0v/0/ I will say my scripts did very well for this image. Didn't have to use GHS even once :) I did re add my Ha as a Luminance into the image for a revision 2, as the Foraxx Palette Utility script tends to blow out very bright areas. Please take a look!

Frank, thanks for the ‘kick-off!’ Nothing like comparing past results with current accomplishments (I have a red blob image I took with the Revolution Imager!!!). Your scripts allow us to leap-frog into more sophisticated post-processing. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Spectacular image, it must be very satisfying to see it compared to your earlier version. Thanks for uploading.

Quite nice. I recently photographed my first nebula, the North American Nebula. Used a Bresser 102/460 with a x0.8 generic reducer (f/3.6) and an SvBony dual band filter on my Star Adventurer GTi on Sharp Cap pro for 60 minutes worth of 8 second exposures. Came out pretty with billowing clouds of glowing gas.

Thats great news! If you want to email me a copy I would love to see it. First nebula is always exciting!

Very nice! What settings did you use on your Ha Statistical Stretch? Thanks for the good work.
@setiv2
@setiv2 4 месяца назад
I did 0.25 with no extra curves stretch. I then had to use HDR transform to bring some more detail back to the core. I do show that in my script video as well

Got it. Thanks.

Many people with OSC cameras that already have dual narrow band filters (HA and OIII) are now purchasing the filters that offer SII and OIII or SII and Hb. Can you look into creating a script that can split then combine the channels accurately to create SHO or HSO?
@setiv2
@setiv2 3 месяца назад
Those work becuase the dual channels are widely seperated. Just a standard channel extraction and use the Red for Ha or SII and Green for OIII or Hb, whatever combo that particular filter is using. Once you have your seperated channels you can combine them in channel combination and then use my Statistical Stretch script in unlinked mode.

Also View Into Space just posted this script too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h8o0s6PFQyE.htmlsi=ghaVIy5FU_dBdVVQ

@setiv2
@setiv2 4 месяца назад
Not at that time. I did get it modded and built a cooler for it too. Now I use it as IR cam for landscapes since I use my asi cameras.

It is an easy first target. Very bright and has that wow factor. If you havent imaged it you should.

On what scope it was captured? On astrobin it shows 120mm achromatic refractor, is it real?
@setiv2
@setiv2 3 месяца назад
It sure is real. Orion 120ST achro native f5 and I have an astrotech 0.8x reducer on it to step it down to a fast f4. I call it my secret weapon scope. I shoot with a mono camera so there isnt any real problem, especially in narrowband.
@Kolotatel
@Kolotatel 3 месяца назад
@@setiv2 did you modify it somehow? Maybe focuser? Also did you look at any parameters when choosing an achromat, or you just picked by focal length? Before your picture I couldn't even think that narrowband + achromat actually will work, this is genius!
@setiv2
@setiv2 3 месяца назад
I got it years ago used. No real modification, just slapped an EAF on it for autofocusing. I do also offaxis guide with it for guiding instead of a guide scope. Even my Andromeda image on astrobin was done with it. All my tutorial videos are images from it too.
