Does the Deathwatch have more than one Watch Master? because if they do I like the idea of making all custom characters and none of the named established ones so you can write your own lore.
Yeah they have multiple "companies/chapters".. So you can make any Watch Master to lead them, and any characters you want. It's a great army for kitbashing and building lore.
If you look at the Galactic Map in the Codex: Space Marines, you’ll see multiple Watch Tower icons. About 6 or 7. The Codex even shows the banner for three of them. Each Watch Tower is commanded by a Watch Master.
Just started painting my version that was made from the Bladeguard ancient/ Indomitus captain and a bunch of weapons bashed into the spear (xenophase blade ftw!)
@@JamsMiniMods it was a fun bash trying to replicate the essence of the character from what I already owned. No mistaking that he's a Watch Master though!
Thank you so much i play primaris deathwatch but i have held off buying a watchmaster because he is not a primaris this is a great starter spot for me to get ideas from 😄
Glad this could help. I'm slowly building up a Deathwatch army as well. On a side note, if you get a Custodes guardian spear then you can make any primaris into a Watchmaster.
for the keys and other watch master stuff; i wouldve grabbed a dark angels upgrade kit, and for the 'gap' with the halberd i would use a skull (like an ork or something to give it an 'anchor point' for max stability)
As much as I dislike them, the roman balteus is Ultramarines through and through. So...i guess I vote Ultramarimes, as much as it hurts my Dorn loving heart.
The arms and head scale really well. The Primaris torso looks very good. I am having the Captain as a Flesh Tearer but no idea who my Watch Master will be.
@@JamsMiniMods I have a small force chosen and in tiny plastic ziplock bags for each model. Mixed Primaris and non Primaris for the force. The Watch Captain has the torso and sword of the company champion with the cloak, legs and backpack of the Space Marine Commander. Bald head with bionic eye and Deathwatch Bolter.
Every time you pick up the clippers I tend to look away or cover my eyes.... this hacking of parts that can be salvaje if only you use the right tools is like a horror move for me!
A great job well done.. when I have to separate parts, I use etched microsaws on a scalpel, the paper-thin blades make less mess and save more material
would it not have been easier to just remove the backpack fitting from both models and reattach the primaris one to the cape rather than all the cutting work? less risky?
You probably have chosen a chapter by now, but given the kneepad symbol on Amulius, I reckon Novamarines would be a good choice. Also, I'm tempted to follow in your footsteps here, but I'm wondering what your thoughts are on trimming the terrain under the feet to be able to fit it on a 32mm base?
I haven't stuck a symbol on him yet but Novamarines does work! Trimming the terrain off should be easy and he'll probably fit on a 32mm quite well. Why do you want him on a 32mm? Play him as a normal intercessor?
@@JamsMiniMods No, I was thinking of doing something similar, but the Watch Master rules specify a 32mm base, so I wanted to be able to keep him tournament legal just in case.
@@JamsMiniMods There's a guy in my local area selling a NOS Amulius, but I also have, randomly, a spare Bladeguard Ancient torso, and I think both could work well... Just trying to decide how to do it.
