In the free English lesson you'll learn words and phrases you can use to talk about emergency preparedness. What is emergency preparedness? Well, there are things that you should just be ready for. Sometimes the power goes out. Sometimes there is flooding. Sometimes a storm is approaching that might affect your life!
In all those situations, it is always good to be prepared!
In this English lesson you'll learn words and phrases like: first aid kit, flashlight, torch, generator, flare, fire extinguisher, fire drill, pocket knife, swiss army knife, whistle, compass, candle, non-perishable food, and many more!
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

Thank you for sharing such a comprehensive and practical English lesson on emergency preparedness! It's clear that being ready for emergencies, especially in different seasons, is crucial. Your detailed explanation of items like first aid kits, flashlights, generators, and even pet food is invaluable for real-life situations. It's great how you've broken down each item, making it easier to understand for English learners.

Thanks Bob, it was so practical lesson. I live in Canada. I got a bit scared of the winter and three days power outage, but I am happy to know that. At least, it helps me be prepared.

If you're learning British English, this is a torch, I think, over there across the pond. That's sometimes we regard the UK with the help of this torch over there across the pond... I'll exactly remember this collacation. Thanks a lot

When I was a child at school we used to do an "earthquake drill" maybe that would be the name for it in English. The alarm goes off a certain amount of times and the children have to hide under their desks and then everyone goes out in line and wait for the instructions, here is called "Operation Deyse". "Fire drill" reminded me of that, thanks for the class 🙌🏻
