I have a suggestion. I make the hats as well and what I do is use a binder clip to hold the ring as I add the yarn. It makes it so much easier to work with. Then just move it around as you work.

These are adorable and I plan on making lots of them as gifts for the holidays, special occasions, etc. Can't wait to get started. Hope they turn out as cute as they appear. I will use them as ornaments for my tree and as a bonus touch to preserve I am wrapping.

I make these little hats as well, but I'd never waste all that yarn. You can cut your strands a bit shorter and get way more out of one skein
