i've been wanting to do a halloween tree. this year i just put halloween ornaments on my pre-lit birch tree & stuck it in a cauldron. this looks like a gread idea!
Very, very cute! I do my yard in Nightmare Before Christmas for the holidays and everyone loves it. Keeping a year round Halloween love alive works perfect with your tree!
That's a very Cute Tree!!!!! I like how you painted the Bulbs Orange! You know what would be awesome..You should paint different Jack O' Lantern faces on each of the bulbs! That would soooo make it look even better!!! But Great Job!!!
I just left my tree white so I can decorate it for all the holidays. Purple lights made it look purple all over. I might take one of my small trees I used in the restaurants I workerd for and paint it black for another tree. Love the bat!

My idea is having a fake dead tree with Only the branches, and then having skull ornaments and stuff. For presents, have Halloween wrapping and inside, Candy!
Interesting belated Halloween tree. Last Monday I started decorating my dining room and kitchen for Christmas. Both rooms run together, so I expanded my Gingerbread theme into our dining room. My hubby and I set out our front yard Christmas decor today....I’m tired 😓 TYFS
TheBestThings In the past I wouldn't even think about decorating before Thanksgiving. After I started working in retail, that changed. I started setting up our tree without it being decorated just before Thanksgiving. After a few years I had it up and decorated by Thanksgiving. Having to work weekends, Black Friday and the day after Christmas. I would be too exhausted to even enjoy Christmas. That's why I started decorating early just so I didn't over exhaust myself. We did start earlier than we usually do this season but that's because my hubby is having a medical procedure done at the end of November. Halloween is my favorite Holiday next to Christmas. 🎅🏻👻🎃
It looked like a orange fruit tree. For a Halloween tree. I would have put on the purple lights. And painted black faces on the orange bulbs. Used the white ribbon giving the tree some color. Awesome idea the bat as the topper that was really cute.
Your topper is very cute! I started gathering stuff around my house for a halloween tree recently. My plan; a witches hat on top (bought last year), a string of pumpkin shaped LED lights (they look like jack-o-lanterns and are the size of a golf ball), a few fake black roses (made from textile, they were sold as hair accessories) and I still want to make hanging decorations in the shape of bats (I could use polymer clay or other clays that dry/bake into a smooth surface and won't immediately shatter when dropped), maybe ghosts as well. Then I will just swap the decorations and lights out for christmas ones when december comes. Ideas people might like; you can use salt dough to make gingerbread men. The surface texture of salt dough is perfect imo for gingerbread men because it has the texture of a baked cookie when baked/air dried. Use cookie cutters for the shape if you have them. For halloween you could paint angry faces or zombie/dead faces on the gingerbread men (like 2 crosses for the eyes for example). Spray paint any unwanted sphere shaped christmas tree baubles pumpkin orange, then paint a jack o lantern face on them. I have a big piece of black velvet that I wrap around the base of my fake tree. Imo it's beautiful for christmas but also good for halloween.

I think it looks great! I wouldn't even have thought you could spray paint a tree! I love the bat on top that really made it. I also have that Charlie Brown tree it's great! You really fooled me with that Christmas sweater I almost yelled at the screen lol!!
The bat makes the tree. Nice spot in the dining room for it also. Target usually has 2-3 ft black (and other colors) trees, I wonder if they will this year also.
I love the halloween tree. As you have time you can add a lot of interesting, even diy ornaments. I like the Orange bulbs but I would add some polka dots or stripes or squiggles in black or purple. Happy haunting !
Hopefully I can get my Christmas decorations out faster than I did my Halloween ones. My parents kept waiting to put the Halloween stuff out. I also didn't get to go to many Halloween stores. It was probably my word October so far, but hopefully next year will be better.

I LITERALLY just finished taking my Halloween tree down!! If you can't see my trees from outer space then they don't have enough lights on them!! LOL!! I suggest one more string & wrapping around & into +the branches but let it flash while the others stay on. I have painted a bunch of the small Dollar Tree green Christmas trees black & it worked really well. I did have Krylon on hand though. I did the white DT trees in orange & made one that was candy corn colored. I think the green goes black easier than white goes black so if anyone tries this I'd get a green tree if you don't want to do a zillion coats & don't want white to show. You can also get black tree hooks thought I don't recall where I got mine but probably Amazon. Now you need a tree skirt which for me is a Halloween hand/kitchen towel. You can use napkins, a towel, or just some fabric of any sort. And anything can be a tree topper, this year mine had a witch hat. Last year my tree had old Ben Cooper/Collegeville masks on it along with my Hallmark ornaments, some homemade vintagey looking pumpkin ornaments & some homemade chenille Halloween ornaments. I've used Halloween picks from Michaels in the trees (eyeballs, skulls & witch hats), pencils with cool Halloween toppers, & of course generic Halloween colored plastic, cat friendly balls.
