@@csolar5052 I dug some in July but didn't make any but , first I'm a Follower of Jesus, last night and all morning I was given a dream. I hadn't thought about poke weed for months, now believe me or not but this dream lasted all night. It was so real I went out and dug a couple VERY big roots. In the dream everyone was so sick and nothing worked and I kept pushing off useing poke weed but finally in my dream I made it and said make more then you need. I remember exactly where it grew and the ones came up first was the big ones they cut easy so I was looking for this video I watched months ago to help me and my wife make some. I'm watching all I can and reading all I can but I "NEVER" dismiss a dream like that maybe with cv and ????? I pray I never need it but if I do I believe the roots I have will hold as much medicine as they can being its January and they are full of liquid I use gloves but I pray it worked for you

@prudentroots6194 After taking poke consistently for about 5 months, I did have improvement on the size and hardness of my lymphedema. The effects it had on my mental health were bad, but that's just me.
I am in my 50"s and just found out my Grandmother was an herbal healer. While she was alive we didn't speak the same language so I missed out on conversations and learning. So I am glad I came across this. I hope to watch more of you videos and learn some what was lost generationally.

I just never knew there were still people out there, my aunt and I when I was younger used to chat about tinctures and she taught me about them how to respect them and how to take care myself with natural medicine, they will take care of you, respect them and they will return the favor. Please, please do more videos on the baneful plant allies! I love and appreciate your videos so much. I totally understand WHY you don't do many videos on plants like poke. I'm in my 60s now. And my grandparents raised us on their farm and every spring we always went poke hunting. Papa always taught us that we only pick it in the spring and it couldn't be any taller than say 13 -15". I absolutely loved eating it then and now I take my grandchildren Polk hunting. My grandmother said that it was a blood detoxer for the springtime. But they never made mention of the roots. Thank you so much for all that you do. I will definitely be making the tincture

I have a volunteer pokeweed in my garden (watching this in August of 2024), and I'm gonna leave her alone and let her grow until this winter.
She is correct about the cutting the root. I cut up poke root and rubbed the root juice over my hands for an hour. I was sick than a dog for 24 hours with massive headache and confusion. I cut poke root and filled a 1/2 gal jar and topped with water. I let it set for 8 weeks. I then strained the water into a pan. I slowly cooked off the water, never letting it boil, which took most of the day. I ended up with a black tar like paste. I put it in a 1/2 pint jar in the freezer. I use it topically for skin problems. It works great. I had a spot on my neck that would never heal, tried all kinds of meds and nothing worked until I put poke on it. Thinking about trying the poke in the everclear. You said 1 drop per day, correct???? I also eat the berries, caution: I swallow the seeds but do not crush them. I did that once and that was all it took. Do not crush seeds. When ripe, I eat 10-20 berries a day from the plant growing in my back yard. I made a sweet syrup out of them. I put just a bit in my tea.

The dead trees that were mulched, where the roots you used were gathered, can potentially contain chemicals absorbed from toxic species, such as pine trees. We Elves are very careful while forging for our mushrooms here in the Ozarks. If say the Hen & Chick species were growing beside a pine tree it would poison us, well a slight tingle for Elves, but for humans, never. Always gather around safe trees such as oaks. In Tennessee we're covered up with poke. The only thing I've ever done with it is cook the leaves in the spring as a green. I didn't know anything like this could be done. I'll store this information and I thank you for it. It would be a last resort for sure since I make colloidal silver. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. Blessings!
We make poke salad when the poke weed is still young before berries ever form, they are wonderful to eat raw or cooked as greens. And thank you so much for letting people out there know not to sell this medicine because she is extremely powerful!!! Absolutely love watching you you are so spot on!!!

It is good to know that in this day and age with so much mis-use of Antibiotics there is something that could save us from the viruses that have mutated past the known antibiotics that traditional medicine has available to fight them off. I have poke in my yard and just started making the poksalit, boiling twice and then frying in bacon grease. I will make this tincture this winter. Awesome info, thank you!
I’m so happy that I found your channel. Last year we had one…only one… poke weed. Then I lost track of it and was so sad. This year we have about eight that have pooped up. I’m going to flag them this weekend so I can find them this winter.
Thank you. I was worried my poke tincture may not be good after a year of not straining. My lymph nodes we're so bad they were dividing and at the time only berries were available and they sure kick the s*** out of them in my upper torso and then used poke root for the lower torso and thanked God for what he puts in my yard.
I watched this video 15-20 times. Harvested the Poke root today and immediately made the tincture (December). Followed the instructions to the smallest detail. Hope I never have to use it. Thanks!

I just found your channel (Oct '19) by researching what to do with poke. It grows EVERYWHERE on our farm in southern Missouri. I try to keep the berries pruned back because we have so many small children around and I don't want anyone eating them. I have to say that I am quite captivated by your video and I love the way you ramble along. I think that people give more information when they ramble rather than following a script because they think of more information as they are going along. I'm definitely going to be checking into your other videos. Do you have more information about what else to do with poke?
Hello and I'm so glad to hear you like to hear me ramble haha! Since she's a pretty powerful root some folks who have breast cancer or anything else near the surface cancer wise will infuse the root in oil and use this as a way to "eat the cancer out" but be warned it no joke does eat a hole in your body. It's an extreme measure.
So I’m In Virginia, it’s mid November and had a poke growing in my horse manure pile and just dug it up and made this… I have swollen lymph nodes under my arms in the pit area and had breast cancer/ double mastectomy and had my implants removed last month due to the toxic reaction my body was having for many years feeling 💯 better but was thinking this may help my lymph nodes cleanse … any input from you April will be appropriated. ❤ your videos and knowledge! That’s awesome. When I was a kid, poke berries were my war paint. Here in Missouri the trees are smaller like shrubs and when they come up in spring they’re their soft green growth you can eat like poke green just soak them in salt water for about 24 to 48 hours

Do you know they posed a few jars of their "elderberry" syrup with a bunch of the berries used next to it... I swear I nearly screamed. It was ripe poke berries!!! 😶 Too many untrained are out here rushing and going to just hurt themselves and others. 🤦🏽♀️ It irritated me so much I made a post on my Facebook to warn my friends to only buy from trusted sources. AND not to go wandering picking berries they think might be it. I just found pokeberry on my land. I have to wonder if my grandparents knew what it was. I also just found America Beautyberry. I think I will make a poke root tincture when the weather cools more. I appreciate all your caution and will take it all with respect, use it and lock of this tincture with an eamplanation to my grown daughter. Now for the beauty berry. I think I am going to make a jelly and surprise my family. I am sure my grandmother thought this just another bush my grandfather brought in for curious conversation. Watching aug 2023 Well the beginning certainly got my attention. A very potent serious root. If ever made use id say 1/2 drop if 1 drop is dose for large man daily for 1 week. Wowza.. now im apprehensive to even touch them if in fact that is what is growing in the back. Very good to know this

Thank you for the video and the warnings! I had a poke plant appear in my garden last year. I knew that you weren't supposed to eat the berries, but I thought I might use them for dyeing. I didn't do it and the plant died last winter. I thought I had missed my chance to try to use the berries for dyeing, but it came back this year even stronger. Thanks to you I know that if I want to use the berries for dyeing, I should be careful and wear gloves (the dye book I read didn't mention that fact) and that I should take all of them off so the plant won't take over my back yard.

Years ago I had bad ulcers and was unable to drink vodka. A friend showed me that sprinkling flakes of black pepper over it and letting it settle to the bottom did something to the vodka that allowed me to drink it without any problems...it felt smooth and tasted better but mainly didn't bother my ulcers. The ulcers I had since a young teenager went away when my wife started buying only 2 % milk and I refused to drink it. All my life I drank milk to stop the pain but was actually making the ulcers worse. By the way, regular old pencil is best for labels because alcohol won't smear it or wash it away. I watched a lined notebook page with pencil writing on it survive outdoors all year until the lines were gone but the pencil was still legible.
