Let's Play - Destiny: The Taken King (Part 3) 

Never really thought Ryan, Gavin, and Geoff would make a great pair. I mean, Gavin and Geoff was already super great, but adding Ryan to the mix is like adding spicy cheese on it. You'd think it'll make your stomach upset as all hell, but it turns out it gives it that kick you never thought it would've had if you hadn't added that cheese.

Ok, ok let me get this straight. All 3 of them, with there new sub-classes... Ryan is Thor, Geoff is Zeus, Gavin is Mark Nutt.

It's great to watch them play a game they enjoy and sound enthusiastic about it.

Today kids, we learned Gavin doesn't know what a fucking crossbow is.

Once again for those of you who are fascinated by the story and want to know what’s going on, I wrote a synopsis of each level below with some interesting backstory! THE DREADNAUGHT After Holiday and her crew upgrades Eris Morn’s ship with the new stealth drive tech, Cayde sends you on an unorthodox mission to land on the Dreadnaught, plant a transmat link so other guardians can land, and take out it’s main weapon. You fly through the debris of fallen queen ketches and crow ships and get close to the dreadnaught and after your stealth drive fails the dreadnaught’s super weapon fires but you make it aboard safely. With no more ship and no transmat zone, you begin your journey inside of the ship. You come across floating, invisible platforms affected by a resonance spell, making them invisible to the human eye until you interact with them. But you are able to see past the spell with your ghost as he scans the area, allowing you to safely cross over the platforms. You come across worms that are squirming around inside the hive tunnels. These worm larva stuff are consumed by the hive not for sustenance but survival, as they are born out of the darkness. At least the ancestors believed so. Once you get further in the Dreadnaught, you come across 3 power cores that enable the dreadnaught’s super weapon to fire. By allowing your ghost to disable the shield, you can shoot the necrotic link (the floating ball thingy) and disarm the weapon. Your next objective is to create a transmat zone for future explorers of the ship. Before you arrived, but after the events of Queen Mara Sov's death and the Awoken fleet's destruction, the Cabal fleet created a massive hull breach in the side of the dreadnaught. Their tactic: Crashing through the hull to gain access to the interior, creating a beach head and then securing it for future cabal to land. The group that started this was a celestial demolition fleet of Cabal called the Skybunners. Their initial hidden efforts began on Phobos, but Oryx and his taken army took over the base before you arrived. Cayde orders you to secure the transmat zone and so you place a beacon down to transmit back to the tower. This allows you to call for your ship and for others to land there in the future. Cayde lets Zavala in on what’s going on and briefs him and Ikora on the plan. Meanwhile you destroy the Cabal tank to secure the transmat zone and make certain it is safe to land. Zavala thanks you for your bravery and Cayde 6 goes to have an “uncomfortable” conversation with Eris Morn about how her ship was destroyed without her knowing. You efforts have now made it possible for a patrol to be established on the Dreadnaught. ENEMY OF MY ENEMY Your mission is to gather intel from the Cabal that have been fighting on the Dreadnaught. The Vanguard wants to learn more about the whereabouts of Oryx, and how to reach him. You return to the ship and weaken the Cabal defenses, drawing out the Imperial Colossus. After you defeat him, you enter the ship and Zavala informs you about the Cabal’s protocol to detonate any ship that crashes. obviously the dreadnaught is still in tact, so the Cabal are looking for something. You head to access the Defense Net through a terminal found on the ship to see what the Cabal have learned about Oryx. They have located him in the center of the Dreadnaught, only accessible through a portal like structure called the Rupture. The Cabal have sent a team there already, so you must beat them there. The next step is to activate the Rupture. Eric Morn chimes in and tells you about how Toland The Shattered spoke of statues that ascendant hive use to navigate through the Rupture and determine it’s destination. For those of you who don’t know, Toland the Shattered was a Warlock who used to study the Darkness and became obsessed with it. He went mad and eventually was exiled from the City. He closely studied Hive Arcana, and was an expert on it. Because of that, he was later recruited by Eriana-3, a guardian who was part of the order called The Praxic Warlocks. Eriana-3 led the fireteam of six guardians into the Hellmouth to fight Crota: Toland, Eris Morn, Sia Mota, Omar Agah, Vell Tarlowe, and herself Eriana-3. Only Eris Morn made it back alive, but Toland’s death was never witnessed by anyone, so he is presumed to have survived in the Hive’s ascendant realm. Once the Rupture is activated, hive start pouring out. Eris warns you to not underestimate the Thrall as Tarlowe did in the Hellmouth. You are ordered to enter the Rupture, but you are rejected because only ascendant hive can pass through it. Then an Echo of Oryx exits the portal and you defeat him, closing the portal. Eric tells you the only way you’re going to get to Oryx is by become ascendant.

Good to see that Gavin has NO idea how to use his subclass. I would expect nothing less

Ryan doesn't even know how awesome the hammers are once upgraded. And also based off of watching this they are screwed when it comes to the platforming part of the raid.

the dreadnaught reminds me of that ship in star wars: the clone wars. the 'super weapon' that grievous had.

when I first encountered a Warlock flying around shooting lightning for a brief second I thought I was being attacked by the Emperor from Star Wars.

Love watching this series. Like a mini-podcast and feels like they are in different environment to other Let's Plays. Here they are just playing, chatting and having fun.

Gavin: "Killing is fun" Ryan is starting to rub off on him! In a few years, AH will have become a murder troupe.

The main rings are generally only about 30 feet (10 meters) thick, though parts of the main and other rings can be several kilometers thick. The rings are made of dusty ice, in the form of boulder-sized and smaller chunks that gently collide with each other as they orbit around Saturn. :)

Geoff's warlock battle cry is just too damn funny. XD

This game is actually kind of interesting to watch now that it has a story.

I've never seen a group of people so easily confused by straightforward directions and arrows constantly pointing to where you should go.

Oh geez, I thought Gavin's character was female in the last 2 parts.

Geoffs noises in this video are just the best. Ordinarily he's comedy gold anyway but these power shrieks are on point

While I haven't touched Destiny for about a year, it's fun to watch these guys play it.

Gavin's character looks like he belongs in an alien production of Rocky Horror.

I'm honestly so happy that they're keeping up on their decision to put out one of these a day. I like the gang being happy

Even as someone who loves to watch this because "whoa Destiny has a story?" it's still great that they're doing this aside from their normal schedule.

On the subject of Kitkat bars, and chocolate in general, they sort of mimic the flavor of surrounding foods. I first learned about this in one of my science classes years ago. Found out it was true when I left chocolate donuts in the cereal cabinet for about a week. We also happened to have a bunch of bland, cardboard tasting cereal that week too, so the donuts were terrible.

The Hammer of Sol is awesome i like the Sunbreaker sub class better than the other two for titans. It's not too good when you first get it, but once you upgrade it it's really good.

So, about the saturns rings thickness talk. Saturns rings are actually mainly 30 ft thick and in some spots can be kilometers thick. so not millimeters. lol in case anyone was wondering like I was and didn't feel like internet searching it XD

Gavin was (at least relatively) right with the rings of Saturn. The rings are anywhere between 10meters and 1 kilometer thick which is still pretty damn thin
